Oh man! This image shows two things. 1) The Pixar Ball was originally going to replace Mickey on the Wheel, and 2) Micechat was right about a second spinner going in the other Screamin' helix!

This actually makes a lot of sense, considering the lack of any sort of cohesion with this project.

A second grade art project that got turned in late and incomplete. Oh well, I guess it matches the whole slapdash crud/incomplete look of Pixar Fest.

The entry area to Pixar Pier where Lasseter's Lair will be actually seems like a pleasant plussing up of this original 2001 complex. The new cupolas and trim seems like a good choice design-wise.

I wonder what caused the second spinner to get scrapped. There’s more than enough room for it in the helix, although it might affect evacuation routes for the coaster (I know there are a few sets of evacuation staircases inside that helix). Hopefully we’ll see the spinner added down the road.

You’re right. But I guess seeing it removed from the final concept art while the Inside Out spinner (which will be part of a sort of “Phase 2”) wasn’t made me think it was scrapped. I hope they do something with that space eventually
I figured out how to change the identifier from "Rumor" to "News", and slightly rebranded the thread title now that it happened.
The next time she stops by for a chat and a beverage, I'll have to ask the neighbor lady if this means Blue Sky Cellar stays open through 2019 and 2020 to cover Star Wars Land, Marvel Land, further expansion, etc. But for now, it's all about Pixar Pier, as she mentioned it would be...
