I myself have never seen any, but has anyone seen DVDs, or Blu-Ray videos of things like Wishes, ROE, Fantasmic, etc. for sale on property? While the video camera puts out nice video, it's still standard definition. Years back there was things like make your own CD, and the Walt Disney World Explorer software, so they have sold different types of media, just never seen actual videos. I thought if someone hadn't seen any, I won't waste time searching in October.

:wave:I actually haven't seen any videos like you mention either but a year or 2 ago I bought a box set of 5 DVD's there at WDW, 4 were on the parks(1 DVD per park) and I don't remember what the other one was. The EPCOT DVD had a little bit of ROE on it but not much. Overall, I was a little dissappointed by them especially since they were about $70-80. Take a look at the HD video cameras out now, they have come way down in price. I bought a Sony HD video camera a couple of years ago and the World has never looked better!!!! I had quit carrying a standard definition video camera to WDW decades ago, but now I carrry the HD camera with me every trip...you can actually see what the peoples faces look like now instead of fuzzy blobs from standard definition video.

:sohappy:20 days till I'm home again......Port Orleans Riverside (previously know as Dixie Landings, I still call it that):sohappy:

You are not going to find ANY full length DVDs(or Blu-Ray) of WDW shows, rides etc. on property. Your best bet is to purchase some of the fantastic fan DVDs produced by Jeff Lange. Here is a link to his online store...

http://www.jefflangedvd.com/

You can also purchase his DVDs through Ebay...

We own quite a few of his DVDs and we love them, I highly suggest you check them out.

I hope this helps.

Promos will come out in higher def eventually, but why make it too good if there is a chance people will settle for a high def video instead of the real thing (I Know.. but you can bet some people would)

Until then go for Jeffs or one or two others high quality, far better than the park DVDs productions. Just stear clear of amateur HD recordings. There is nothing more painful to see a HD video poorly shot by someone who can`t operate the camera. Why shoot fireworks in high def if you can`t use manual focus for example...

Forget about purchasing some and make your own ones. Camcorders are affordable today to most visitors I believe. I bought my own one for the sole reason of going to WDW and it payed off. Especially in the dark rides technology has done a huge leap forward since my last trip in 1991, I swa this especially in the quality of HM and other dark rides. And with the integrated infrared-modus I could even film in complete darkness. I would prefer my private made 7 hour video with all four parks, complete Wishes, Fantasmic, Spectromagic and Illuminations, TL, Wilderness Lodge and Coronado always to any purchased commercial one.

The camcorder I will be using is a decent DV camera, but not HD. I figured there might not yet be enough of a market to jutify the Blu-Ray HD cost yet, but thought I would ask so I don't spend time looking for something that doesn't exist. I will check out the Jeff Lange site. Maybe shooting 16:9, and playing back DVD on an upconverting player will look good enough to give the "I'm still there" feeling. Thanks guys.

Never use an external light; aside from AAs looking awful it is annoying to fellow guests. Same for IR/night vision - by its nature the colour balance is awful if not non existent.

Trust me. I`ve had a little experience in this ;)
