Totally off subject, but the crowds here have been non existent.

Arrived Feb 1 and have walked on to any ride we wanted, with The Exception of Soaring (15 min wait) Toy Story Mania (30) Expedition Everest was sending cars out half full, as well as Haunted Mansion and Pirates. We have been as able to make same day reservations, for France Via Napoli, as a matter of fact online the only place I couldnt get a same day res was Le Celliuer, made reservations at 6PM on my cell for Yachtsman same night, a Saturday which is rare. I have to say the very first 6 days of February have been best so far, able to get on everything in the parks and have PLENTY of time to relax no waiting at all. Not sure if this week is always like this or if it was to do with the storms that have moved across country, we were lucky our plane left Boston at 6am Tuesday, the snow came at 8. When we arrived at BCV 10:30ish there were several folks from New England at front desk cause there flights were cancelled.
By far the best time to come here for us.

We plan to hit HS during SuperBowl should be a Ghost Town......

Different strokes for different folks? To each his own. (and any other saying out there) The OP is entitled to his opinion. That is why there are so many different options out there...so everyone can stay where they like and feel comfortable in doing so. My friend owns at BLT and they love it. I haven't been there yet but the pictures look cool. But pictures don't show wear and tear.
As long as everyone is happy...it's all good.

I stayed at BLT this past summer.

1.) No in building food service.

If you're in there during lunch and there's a down pour, unless you have food in the room you can't get a meal for the family and stay dry. It's a huge oversight. Either add food or inclose the walkway to the Contemporary.

We stayed in June 2010 and I recall maybe about a 3 foot area (maybe more, 36-60 inches or so) that was uncovered between the Contemporary and Bay Lake Tower.

I don't know if I would call 60 inches a 'huge' oversight.

tried to get my luggage delivered while it was raining "sorry we dont deliver luggage in the rain cause it comes from The Contemporary" great move Disney build a huge resort and lets not leave a room to store the guests luggage in. (in the same building!)

Umm, well. I can't figure out how to defend that one.

I will just shut my mouth on this thread now.

NONE of the non-standalone DVC resorts have luggage storage facilities - they use the luggage/bell service facilities of the main resort.

Could have been worse. January 25th magical express stopped bringing luggage from the airport due to the weather. You had to get your own from baggage claim and drag them to the busses.

Wow...can't get the hate here.
We're BLT owners, love the place...and just added 200 more points.

I guess different strokes for different folks.

We liked it too

We stayed here in October and really enjoyed it. Not as much of a welcome home feel as the others, but the location was the draw. We had a lake view room on the 12th floor and got to watch the flotilla from our balcony. Being the only DVC resort on the monorail line is nice.

I'm confused, what's wrong with a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich? Bread not toasted properly? Lettuce a tad wilted? Or not a fan of pork overall?

I guess I'll form my opinion when we go in March. Although SS is my home resort and we will be at BLT because of LOCATION. Hopefully we will not encounter the problems posted here. Come to think of it. I never had problems like what I have seen posted. WOW! Hope I didn't jinx myself.:hammer:

Everybody has things that are important to them.
And I'm not surprised to see people with strong, differing feelings on resorts. That's what this Forum is about.

Awilliams4 felt strongly about defending Bay Lake Tower, and I'm sure thousands of other Bay Lake owners would agree.

BeachClubNut prefers the Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge experience. More power to 'em!

The amazing options DVC provides in properties mean we can choose which experience we want.

Although, I can't imagine why anybody would consider staying at the Bay Lake, Beach Club, or Wilderness Lodge when the FAR SUPERIOR Boardwalk Villas are available.:p:p:p

Just kidding. I love 'em all! (but the Boardwalk just a little more)

And I will agree with you on Boardwalk, but we own in both BWV and BLT and I like the difference. We vacation at either based on what we want to do at that time.

BLT is different from other resorts as is BWV; BCV; Kidani etc. But it has its own wodnerful features AND we have not had any CM problems there.

Only disappointment to me is that its already showing its wear, perhaps though you were in a villa that had taken a beating and hadnt been repaired yet.

Glad to own at both BWV and BLT!

Thank you! I'm reading through this now and feel the same way! We are new BLT owners and couldn't be happier. So far the only thing I could really agree with is the lack of restaurant in the building but loved how easy it was to WALK over to a few great choices! Walking to the Magic Kingdom is hard to beat IMO. Everyone is entitled to opinions obviously and I am really just picking up on some angry vibes from the OP.
It's all good, that's why there are so many options for us! :)

 We love BLT and yes the Contemporary staff can be less then stellar and the thickness of the laminates used in the rooms are also less then stellar but we find the building to be very comfortable. And (imho) there is a reason there are no restaurants in the building...it is not a stand alone resort, it is part of the Contemporary. It is nothing more then the larger version of the North Garden Wing building with a serious design change.... ;)

I would like to make an open comment to those who stay at BLT...if you go into your room and find a maintenance problem, please go back down to the front desk and make some noise about it. We, the owners of BLT, pay over a million dollars a year just in maintenance fees. If you don't complain then the problems will not be fixed in a timely manner and that degrades the overall feel of the building. There is not much that can be done about scratched furniture but holes in the walks, parts of lights missing and items falling off the wall are unacceptable.
