I wish they had themed the kilns a little better.

I think the kilns are not done yet and some minor updates are still going to happen before the "official opening". Hmmmm, where have I heard that before?:zipit:

The one in Branson had a lot of money pumped into it, they have multiple roller coasters. Though I think Dollywood has surpassed them with all the attractions she has put in over the years.

Totally we live about 3 hours away from Dollywood. She puts a lot of detail into her parks...

Yeah I'm confused. Where is this shop? And how does it work. Do you pick which colors from the bits of broken glass and they make it for you. I know this sounds dumb but I've always seen this kind of thing but have never bought anything and I've always wanted to.

With a price tag of $2290.00 for a vase - I'm sure that they would be HAPPY to customize your purchase to anything that they are capable of doing.

My luck, I would walk out of the shop and some speeding, blind, uninsured stroller momma would knock it out of my hands.

Anyone know if this is a new srategy to add more interesting elements (shops/attractions) to the MK similar to how Disneyland is set up?

I just came back from Gatlinburg with a youth group at a conference for New Year's. I have never, ever, seen so much traffic in my life. It took us 2½ hours to drive the 10 miles or so from the interstate through Pigeon Forge to Gatlinburg on Dec. 30! So, once we got to Gatlinburg, we made the kids walk everywhere, and never went back to Pigeon Forge as we had planned. (We left via another route.)

I literally thought it was as bad as merf is describing Epcot to have been this year. Crazy!!

Is it always unmanagable at this time? I was there 10 years ago, and it was bad but not that bad...

This kind of stuff amazes me. WDW must consider the average consumer at WDW (basically--us) and determine that not many of us are going to purchase a vase for over two THOUSAND dollars. Now, maybe if it had a WDW theme then some of us might save some money for the good stuff (such as what we see at Art of Disney.)

This shop will be nice for a little bit of fun blowing-glass watching for awhile and then it will be gone.

There are so MANY interesting crafts from around the world -- why choose glass blowing where most things will be way out of the average families' price range? (And far too easily breakable on an airplane or in a shipment back home).

On the other hand, maybe they are waiting for Michael (Jackson) to come in and scoop up that vase! LOL
