does anyone agree with me that Block Party Bash is the worst thing Disney has ever come up with?
Its not the worst disney has ever done but its FAR from the best. The block party bash in my opinion was pretty lame, not worth waiting to see at all. My wife who LOVES parades thought it was terrible as well. After seeing it all it made me think was why cant you get pictures with boo or the stick bug! It was nice to see some of the pixar characters but outside of that its just blah. This was a step back from the stars & motor car parade IMHO.

That really puts it on the short end of the endorsement spectrum, doesn't it.
Never thought I would see one rated worse than Stars/Cars...

Someday they'll get it right at studios

Maybe they should just give up on parades and do more "spot venue" stationary performances.

I watched the short version last week for the first time and it is really lacking compared to the complete parade, so if any of you are judging the parade based on that version you really didn't get the full experience. I totally agree with the decision to come up with a short version for the sake of the performers (especially after hearing stories about how tough it was on them in March/April) but it's a shame that guests are missing out.

Even a short BPB is better than the life draining S&MC parade though.

We were looking forward to the new parade in a few weeks just as something different. But this is te first I heard of a shortened version... how long is the regular and the short version? And what do we miss in the shorter version?

Are you talking about the "shortened" parade where there are no show stops? They do that only when weather is or potentially could be bad(i.e. a drop of rain), not for any reason regarding the performers.

There ARE, however, two versions of the parade as judged by heat conditions; the "long" version's show stops are eleven minutes, the "short" version's are eight. This has to do with the fact that it's hard enough doing one show stop in 95+ degree weather, let alone two. For the safety and health of the performers (who were predicted to lose 5 lbs. per parade), three minutes of material were very smoothly removed to help them, y'know, not die as quickly. ;)

I meant the one with the shorter show stops and like I said I totally understand why they did it. I heard plenty of stories from entertainment CMs as to how bad things were the first few months, and I can only imagine how much worse they would be now if they were still doing the full show stops.

The summer version of BPB isn't lacking at all. Even if you know the entire 11 minute show stop by heart, the 8 minute version still flows and seems "normal" to any guest. Yes it does end a bit quick compared to the normal, however it's not like going from 5 show stops w/the SAD parade (Share a Dream)at MK to 0 show stops.
