Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon?

Simple and basic...I've never been to any water parks before, let alone a Disney style one...I've read great things about both, but I am interested in everyone's in-put on these boards.

Sooo....Which one do you prefer and why?

Definately Typhoon Lagoon! There is more of a beachy feel to it, and there are bigger waves, a nice creek, decent slides. And it has the Crush n Gusher which is awesome!!!!! Blizzard Beach is okay especially if you want slides but if you want a great day go to TL!

We like BB a bit more(4 teen boys and me) If the teens like it better, it should tell you something. Odd layout though, lots of walking (and climbing)

blizzard beach - i like the feel it feels very relaxing for me its nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the parks but it still has that disney feel to it.
if you got the ski lift up to the family raft ride and saw the view you see AK,AKL,MGM,EPCOT didnt look for MK. i took pics.

Typhoon Lagoon! I love that water park. We spent 3 hours in the wave pool alone. It's really fun. Also, Crush n Gusher is my Dfather's favorite ride in all of WDW!

Great feedback thus far; thanks!!:sohappy:

I heard the attractions at TL are a bit shorter than BB...? Is that true? Does that matter at all? *shrug*

I'm looking for the water park that will best cater to 2 20 yr old thrill seekers AND 2 middle age adults...

Maybe I'll just have to visit both :animwink:

DH and I have only been to Typhoon Lagoon, but I wanted to mention that the wave pool there is AMAZING, and also the opportunity to swim with those little leopard sharks. That was the whole reason we chose this water park, and we loved it. It is ONLY little sharks, and it is ONLY a couple of minutes (and it is COLD water!) but it was great.

Tell the 'middle age adults' to stay the he!! away from anything sounding like 'speed slide'. More like 'chlorine enema'.

I like Typhoon Lagoon much much more. I think all the rides are a lot more fun there, even if they may be shorter. Plus, I think the themeing and atmosphere is just a little bit better too

Blizzard Beach requires a LOT of walking and climbing. If that's not for you, don't go.

Personally, I prefer Typhoon Lagoon. There are fewer rides and they aren't as thrilling, but I like the atmosphere better. And the wave pool is better too. I like wave pools.

Hope I helped

I love the tropic feel of Typhoon Lagoon.

Both have sand, rides and a lazy river...

but TL has a wave pool!

Blizzard Beach seems to edge out on the rides...but it seems to be more open, less shade...

I rather be sipping a drink on a tropic island than a beach that was hit by a snow storm.

Don't get me wrong..Blizzard has an excellent theme and you'll enjoy it...

but my preference is Typhoon

I have been to both many times, and me and my family like Typhoon Lagoon better. BB is great for lots of slides if that is the only thing you plan on doing all day, but Typhoon Lagoon has slides, a great wave pool (and it is big) and a better lazy river. You can even swim with sharks!

It's a toss up... I love them both...

BB is a bit more open and has more themeing. I like the wave pool there because it bobs more than throws a wave at you.

I think TL is a bit more relaxing, though. I fell asleep under a palm tree there once and it was wonderful.

Both have the round the park floating rivers. BB has one with cold water dripping from the cave...

But be warned... if it's hot... get there early for a chair or go later in the PM...

Ok, everything sounds so great!! Now here's my next question: Which park is better to cover in a half day or so? I'm thinking TL might be better for this, given all the feedback so far...

I definitely prefer Typhoon Lagoon! The wave pool is the best I actually spent most of the day there-BB is ok but Im not fussed on the layout and feel the theming lacks in comparison to TL! This year I'm going to BB once and TL twice!

The wave pool at blizard beach is lame. No big waves. Summit plumet is the best. Gets crowed. When went to the early oipening, did all the rides and then went to our resort Corondo which is lots more relaxing and does have a slide.
