Black Widow moves to 2021

Um, no, Sony released The Interview same day back in 2014. Don't think Sony is some small studio. It was suppose to be a major release for them. But they couldn't due to unforeseen circumstances, hmm, just like we had in 2020. So again this is not unprecedented.

And the stars of that film didn't go sue Sony because of what happened. Also just FYI, I'm actually on no side here, I'm not blaming ScarJo or Disney, I'm just stating the facts.
The interview is not a major Hollywood release. It was a generic comedy by Seth Rogan. No one considers Pineapple Express or any of his other comedies a major studio release and they released it due to caving in to north korea; free of charge mind you, not because it was their initial plan. So, again, you are wrong. TROLLS WORLD TOUR was the first and it changed the industry and had ripple effects.

Please present your data to show that Disney had no plans to ever to have a PVOD option like Premier Access on D+ as you keep claiming.

Be sure to show your work.....
I have already. show your proof I am wrong. again the INITIAL DAMN TRAILERS BEFORE THE PANDEMIC HAD IT SAY "ONLY IN THEATRES" AT THE END. Undisputable evidence. also again NO OTHER MAJOR STUDIO TENT POLE MOVIE WAS EVER RELEASED THIS WAY BEFORE THE PANDEMIC!!! IT STARTED WITH TROLLS WORLD TOUR. These are facts. There are dates that are documented when things were announced and they all came after Trolls World Tour.

I'm not talking about Black Widow going to Premier Access. I'm TALKING ABOUT THE WHOLE CONCEPT OF PREMIER ACCESS THAT YOU KEEP CLAIMING DISNEY ONLY INVITED BECAUSE OF THE PANDEMIC AND NEVER HAD ANY INTENTION OF HAVING THAT OPTION.

Anyways, its a wait and see. I agree with others that this has been about and will likely be settled out of court. It will be with a closed settlement finding no fault on either side.

I am only talking about BLACK WIDOW since that is the topic of the thread!!!!!! STOP IT! I don't care if Disney at some point down the road thought of a pay option for new releases the point is it was never considered initially for Black Widow's release until after the pandemic and it caused Disney to violate the contract. And no one ever ACTUALLY INITIATED the idea before TROLLS WORLD TOUR.

If it does actually go to trial and the judge/juror rules everything you've been saying about Disney violating the contract is wrong, then what?

Really? When's the trial date?
As soon as the judge sets it. Disney wouldn't have said what they said publicly if it was going to be settled. This is going to court and Disney is digging their heels in the ground ready to fight. You are foolish to think this is not going to court. It's not just about this one contract..its about the others also who will follow suite after SCARJO. Disney wants to fight to stop others. It's going to court.

I'm not the only one here who thinks there is a potential for settlement..... So guess we're all "foolish".

But hey I guess we'll see.

BTW, this isn't going to court with an actual trial date until next year at the earliest. And a large majority of Disney lawsuits get settled, very few go to actual trial.

I know she didn't get what was in her contract or she wouldn't be suing considering she is A LIST MAJOR HOLLYWOOD STAR

So what was in her contract? What was the cut?

Also I kept seeing people blaming "the pirates" as one of the reasons why Black Widow didnt make as much money so far. Godzilla vs Kong was also a theater/streaming release. Made over 400K worldwide at the box office. Conjuring? Almost 200K. This is WITHOUT the "premier access" tier as you could watch those movies straight away on HBO Max. BTW, Godzilla and Conjuring were never supposed to go to HBO Max the days they hit theaters, but the pandemic forced WB's hand. Not to mention, there were rumors for months last year that theater chains werent going to survive, that people werent going to go back. THAT is why half of these movies went the Disney+/other streaming service route. If you think the pandemic had nothing to do with how the film industry performed, you werent paying attention whatsoever.

The rumor was…and it makes perfect sense considering her demeanor afterward…that her camp felt Disney didn’t properly market/support the release of poppins

she received no Oscar nod (she boycotted the abc produced show)

the “trilogy”/franchise was quickly and unceremoniously cancelled…

she is now known as being the more unsuccessful version of a movie icon character that was a tough choice to try in the first place.

Now in Disney’s defense…I doubt they had to twist her arm…I bet she thought slam dunk 9 figures of pay and more…and she could have read the script, watched the original, and noticed it was a straight up remake…so there’s that too.

Disney sure loves it’s “live action remakes” doesn’t it?
For the record, Mary Poppins Returns would’ve been BETTER if it had been MORE of a remake and included more of the original music.

Objective fact.

"Screwed the talent". Again, there is still a pandemic going. It affected the ENTIRE movie industry last year and is still doing so.
