Birthday fastpass

We will be celebrating two birthdays on the same day on our next trip to disneyworld in June. We already have multi-day park hopper tickets so we don't need free admission on our birthdays. We were going to take advantage of either the birthday fastpass or the birthday fun card. Has anyone used the birthday fastpass yet? How many rides can you fast pass? Can you go on the same ride again and can you park hop and use it in another park? Thanks.

Since you are only given access to one park free on your bday, if you choose the fast pass card instead, you only get FP at the one park. On the GD board (maybe) someone posted a picture of the new card. From what I understand, it is not to every ride.

Here is the official word on the waltdisneyworld.com website.

Q: I purchased* a valid Passholder Pass or a Multi-Day Ticket that I will use for admission on my birthday in 2009. Is there anything else I could receive on my birthday?

A: Yes, you have several options which are available for you to select once you arrive at the Park with your confirmation message, your proper valid ID, and your Passholder Pass or Multi-Day Ticket that you will use for admission on your birthday. You can choose one of the following:

  • A birthday FASTPASS® exchange card+ for a certain number attractions at the Theme Park you visit on your birthday; or
  • A birthday fun card in an amount equal to the price of a 1-day Magic Your Way base ticket* for you to use for certain purchases including select merchandise, recreation or tour experiences, or for Disney's PhotoPass® on-site services at participating locations at Walt Disney World® Resort; or
  • A 1-day Magic Your Way base ticket for you to use any time until your next birthday.
*Guests using complimentary ticket media for admission on their birthday are not eligible to receive these listed options.

+The number of birthday FASTPASS exchange cards issued per day is limited and may not be available after 11am. Valid Theme Park admission required. FASTPASS benefit for birthday celebrant and up to 5 members of his/her party.

*Ticket price at gate, excluding tax. Adults receive card in the amount of an adult ticket; children (ages 3-9) receive card in the amount of a child ticket. For terms and conditions of the card and details on participating locations, click here.

Hope this helps!

Since your going in June, you might want to use the fastpasses to save time on the big rides (SM, EE, etc) since your going in June, but OVERALL the best value is the birthday card. Around $75 free disney dollars to be used anywhere in the park during your birthday. If you were staying in 1 park I would go with the FP's (since there are two birthdays, you actually get two free fastpasses, because 1 fastpass allows up to 6 people to get into the rides), if your hopping, try spending $150 free disney dollars.

I got my birthday Fun Card today and when they give it to you you also get a sheet that explains all of the details.

Unlike everything I've read that said you had to use it on the date of your birthday, the cast member at the Epcot Will Call window said that had changed and and it does not expire now. It didn't matter to me as I was on my way to Mouse Gear to grab a few T-Shirts and the like.

From my understanding, The FP allows you 2 FP on big name attractions (SM, BTMMR, SM). You also get 2 FP on the lower tier attractions (JC, SGE, BLSRS, etc). Personally, I would get the gift card b/c the FP doesn't sound like it is worth the $75 to me.

when we were there a week or so ago it was my husbands birthday. He got the gift card. He actually bought us all a little something with the card. It was great, felt like free spending money!!!!

most likely because everyone has to eat, but not everyone that goes into Disney Parks buys merchandise. So it forces your hand (you come to disney to get your "special birthday present", so they're going to direct you to where they want you to spend it), plus they are probably over stocked (because christmas stuff was 50% off!!!), so it gets rid of there stock while they get you into the hotels, into the parks (but if you have passes its 1 more day off your passes because they already have your money for them), get you eating there food, and all it costs them was $15 worth of merchandise they we're going to have to get rid of anyways

Thanks for all the information, it was a great help. I think that we will go for two birthday fun cards. If you can only fast past 4 rides, I don't think it's worth it. I think that I would rather spend the dollars on merchandise as we always spend too much in disneyworld anyway.

The birthday fastpass card is pretty unique in the way it works. Here's the run-down.

The fastpass card is good for x-amount of total uses. These uses are divided equally over "Groups" of attractions. Toy Story Mania, Tower of Terror, and Rock n' Roller Coaster are 1 group. You simply insert your Birthday fun cards into the Fastpass machine, and it will print an immediete return time. It will take away a credit for that "group" of attractions. You can then go and get the fastpass for another group of attractions..say Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Star Tours, and Lights Motors Action! is the other group.
