For those interested, Live Local has updated its aerial (top-down) database for all of the World. The images also seem of higher resolution than previous, and seem to be dated early January of this year.

Topics of interesting updates include

Western Way complete
The 20K plot fully landscaped
Wall around the Contemporary North Wing (RIP)
New Hess station on Floridian Way / MK exit open
River Country looking worse than ever
All the Treehouses being used and Saratoga Springs DVC almost complete
RCFD Station 4 open
The Seas turqouise and open
Typhoon Lagoons CRUSH and Gusher finished, but the park closed for rehab (and dry!)
Everest open for business

Anyone else notice that there are 2 Mark Twains on the Rivers of America?? I know there's only 1 riverboat. It must have something to do with how the image was taken.

i was looking at river country on there. i saw that there were a lot of cars parked right next to it.

Is there something around river country? i don't know that area that well.

On further searching, the updated area goes as far north west as USF, north as downtown, and west as MCO, before stepping down south west almost following I-4 until 192 - though you locals will have to help out here!

Marni, just out of curiosity, how long are you staying in October? It seems like thirty days wouldn't be long enough, with all of the nooks and crannies you need to photograph, videotape, and document. But no one deserves a trip to WDW more!

Thanks so much for letting us know about the update. Now my property is on live local!!! woo hoo! Because of the major changes to my 4 acres over the past 3 years I can tell that the kissimmee area live local pics were snapped in jan/feb or march of 2006.

These aerial photos would have cost me hundreds of dollars if I had hired a photographer and a plane.

You are also forgetting the Nemo Musical theatre, that wasn't in the previous shot, it was tarzan. Also the construction slot for Ying and Yak.

I wonder how long it takes Disney to fill up the TL wave pool?

EDIT: Marni, any idea why the third of the 4 maxi barges (or whatever it is called now) for illuminations is where it is in the arial shot.

I'd say that it's probably sometime in January. Note in Epcot that the Christmas Tree is gone, but the Lights of Winter archways are still up.

Oh, and RnRC appears to be closed for refurb. There's a large crowd out on Sunset and on the pathways around Tower, but the RnRC courtyard is entirely empty.
Splash Mountain is closed for refurb, too. (There's empty logs all backed up around the top of the mountain) So when were Splash *and* RnRC both closed at the same time?

And is that a Tom Sawyer Island raft that decided to get to the island the VERY long way around? (Perhaps he was having delusions that he was a keelboat?) Or is there a maintenance raft that cruises the Rivers of America during the day?

And for those who are confused, this is the "Aerial" photos on local.live.com and *not* the "Bird's Eye View" photos that we're talking about.

Anybody notice the dashed lines in certain places? I found it in leading into all of the parks but MK. I also saw it at the TTA and west and south of the Boardwalk. I've fiddle around with Windows Live before but not sure of all of the markings. Anybody know?
