Many of you are far more well-versed than me in coaster ops and construction. Tiana’s was down a year and a half for a full retheme. Since this is just replacing the track and adding a few effects, why does it take so long?
The fact the track is embedded into the rockwork as jpeden said, but also removing the old track, cleaning/repainting, mechanical work, re-installing track, cleaning/repainting, and then the theming dept. comes in to work on new effects and theming where work was done, and after all that they still need inspections, safety testing, and final approval before reopening. Not even bringing into consideration the prep work for Villains and Cars that may prevent operations on the ride.

Nice to see MK closing something down to do proper work on. Space mountain when?
I think they have basically taken 1 tier 1 ride down at a time.

I think it went Tiana/Splash>Pan>JC>Big Thunder. I assume Space will close shortly after Big Thunder comes back.

I also think Cars Road Rally will push Big Thunder down to tier 2 whenever it opens.
