If they start it in the September that leaves it down for two sets of Halloween and Christmas crowds, you would think they would want to limit that and shut it down in January
You say that like they care? This is 12+ years in the making and now they can spread the budget between another project

When it will be closed this long, that’s not really a consideration. A ton of people will be impacted. It’s clear they have some other pressing refurbs they want to sneak in first since they won’t want any other major closures while this is down.

You mean onboard audio?
Glad to see they’ve moved on from homogenizing the IPs they use to now homogenizing the actual ride experiences themselves.

From here on out, all dark rides will feature heavy usage of projection mapping technology, and will contain characters that exclusively stand around and address the audience. If it’s a new build, it will be trackless or a boat ride! As for the coasters, all of them will now feature on board audio with a randomized selection of 5-6 songs. Meanwhile, all of the simulators will make you feel like you are flying through some Disney owned IP world (actually that one is not new).

Works for me as long as the coasters all have fun soundtracks. 😍

I would like to see Soarin’ visiting new (real) places, but I’m willing to trade that for coasters with kickin’ soundtracks. Is it too much to ask for Dick Dale’s version of Space Mountain back at least seasonally?

There's already a lot of sound FX on BTMRR; animal and train noises, music from the sunken saloon, rattling rocks and mining equipment etc.

You'd have to completely rethink the ride's soundscape to make music audible above all the existing audio and guest screaming. And probably replace those deafening lift hill chains too.

Coasters that have onboard audio are often indoors where you can hear and control the noise better.

I don't think it's really practical or effective in this case. Would just be tech for the sake of having it.
