i still haven't understood why Disney World's Big Thunder Mountain doesn't take your picture, any ideas why or why not and tell me if you think it would be a good idea or not

i don't reall think it would be that great to have photos on Thunder Mtn.....there aren't really any big drops or anything like there are in Everest / Splash Mtn. etc. The pictures are only really fun---and sellable---if they catch riders with a big range of surprise, screams, and funny faces.

As much as "on ride photos" might seemed like a great idea some 20 years ago, in this day and age I would guess they will start to phase them out. I know that I have seen a longer line to try and take a picture with a camera of the display photo then to buy the photo.

Also BTMRR was one of the older attractions so trying to retro a photo system into it might not be worth doing.

I agree with Jerm. Trying to give an older attraction better technology to take a picture may not be worth it. It's my favorite ride and I love it the way it is. And it doesn't a big drop like in Splash Mountain, where you knowthat everyone will have the funniest expression on their face. If Thunder may get a refurb in the future, then I guess it is a possibility. But for now, just leave it to be the classic attraction that we all know and love. :)

I just remembered it didn't take onride photos once you said that. I am fine without a picture. With todays technology they are starting to take onride videos of people and you can buy them on a dvd. I agree with some of you though, I like the old feeling with no picture.

We rarely ever get the ride photos - it would be nice if you would be able to just get them on your photopass. I know one of the rides has it (can't remember which though!). They have the monitors up and you just put your photopass in the slot underneath. Quick & easy and then you aren't paying for separate photos - we always just get the cd!

You also have to remember that Big Thunder doesn't have a store or other structure at its exit like other attractions that have on-ride photos. So if they wanted to add on-ride photo, they'd have to build either an entire building or at least an outdoor stand from scratch. That would be quite an expense just to get on-ride photos up and running on BTMRR.

Test Track currently has that option. :)
