Hello, Mouseketeers! We were at the parks this weekend (mostly Sunday) and are happy to report that the Christmas decorations are up everywhere! Even though it is kindof early, they're so pretty that you forget it's the first week of November. All the guests are happy to be a part of the extra magic early!
According to CMs, Christmas decorations began going up in MK Wednesday of last week, November 2nd, and they were finished on Friday! Here are some photos to show you what's up!
Here are swags above the turnstiles, complete with lights!
In non-holiday-related news, the train station is still in progress with its rehab. There is a faux-train station painted on the scaffolding, including fake sky color! If you squint, it's almost believable! Cute, anyway.
City hall is delightfully jolly with its fruit garland. . . oooh look at those tourists in shorts! Very Christmasy.
The Emporium - doesn't it look a little too sunny for Christmas decorations yet?
Swags down mainstreet, as is tradition.
Ahh, one of my FAVORITE parts of Main Street - the trolley show! Yes, those trolley jollies are all dolled up in their holiday finest already! (They'll probably be even jollier when it isn't 80 degrees during their shows. . . )
Now. Here is something interesting. See the giant tree to the right of the castle? Yessirree, that is THE very tree that belongs up in town square at the front of Main Street. What gives? A CM clued us in. The tree is temporarily located near the castle and the rose garden so that when Regis and Kelly come to film in town square, their view of the castle will be unobstructed down Main Street. After R&K are finished filming in the beginning of December (around the 3rd), it will be moved (massive undertaking indeed!) back to its rightful position at the front of Main Street. Got all that? I don't know if this is a yearly tradition, but it is the current scoop nonetheless!
Another shot of the classic tree.
Even the popcorn stands are festive!
Ohhh, as reported - Haunted Mansion is under refurb. There were two CMs still stationed outside. When people stopped to read the sign and inquire "Closed?!" with quivering lip and disappointment, the CMs replied in monotone, "Yes, for ten DREADFUL days."
Stay tuned, more to come!
