Big Family Trips in 2012....

Anybody already planning a big trip for 2012?

We have our plans being laid out as we speak for September of next year. As of right now it will be 19 of us heading to the world! More than half will be newbies, so it'll be fun to show them around WDW.

Anyone else planning a similar trip for next year? :wave:

We are also planning a family trip in 2012. I just had a son in April, so our annual summer trip is not going to happen this year. It is very hard to think that we are not going, but looking at him makes it all better. It also makes it better to start planning our 2012 trip. I have already checked and bookings at the new Animation Resort will be taken in August, and I have our dates lined up, June 17 through the 24th, a little shorter then normal. But with a 1 year old I think it will be long enough. We will be taking my now 3 children , my parents and brother, who haven't been there since 2007, and hopefully my other brother and his wife and my sister and her boyfriend will make it down for a few days as well. So in total it could be 11 people in all.
This summer I will spend it with my girls, watching Disney Home movies from the last 6 years and planning next year's trip. I already have a countdown on my computer 389 days.

Where did you see that bookings may start in August? I'd love to jump on that if thats true. :sohappy:

We have been planning for Oct. 10-19 2012 for about 6 months now. There will be 8 adults and one 5 almost 6 yrs old. It will be my dd's 21st bday on the 11th. We are planning on trying some drinks around the world. The 18th will be my dnephew's bday. It will be my ds and her husbands first time. They are only going because the 5 yr old is their granddaughter. We are planning on staying at Pop.

I think the August reference is because that's generally when pricing for the next year is placed and you can start booking packages. Whether or not the Art of Animation Resort will be opened up at that same time, I'm not sure. Interesting food for thought, tho.

I thought so. I know it probably wont be open, but to start to take reservations for next year would be nice. Anyway, I guess we'll have to wait.

Yep we are all booked too! We are going on the Disney Dream from 4/5-4/10/12 and will be checking into the Beach Club for our pre-cruise stay on 4/2! Can not wait! :sohappy:

We are having possibly up to 16 family members go in May 2012. We don't know if it will be early or late May yet. I planned this time of the year to celebrate my husband's graduation (finally!). I definitely plan on doing some resort hopping, maybe between Wilderness Lodge and Beach Club. We are going to spend at least a week and a half with a day at Universal and a day at Sea World. Plus, for my husband's graduation present I plan on buying him a round of golf at one of the courses on property. Depending on what time of the month we go my husband and I may be down there around our 2 year anniversary, so I'm sure a very nice dinner will be in order (or it should be, at least :lol.

Not us. We're going to SoCal next summer. It will be my first time back there since 1992 and it will be my wife and kids' first time past Dallas. I can't wait! Especially since we'll be meeting up with my two sisters and hopefully my brother and I haven't seen them since then as well.

You will not be disappointed in AKL, we just stayed there in December and LOVED it!

This will be a 50th Birthday Party celebration. Can't wait because there will be a lot of newbies there with us. We plan to stay at Pop Century since many probably will not be able to afford the more expensive resorts. If you see a lot of lost people, point them in the right direction.

We're going to Disneyland for the 1st time in 2012. Figure it's a good time. We'll return to WDW in 2013 when FLE is complete.

We'll be there 3rd - 13th Sept 2012, so I will look out for 100 people in matching '50th birthday' t-shirts!
