From WND:

A study published in Science Magazine today presents new evidence supporting the abiotic theory for the origin of oil, which asserts oil is a natural product the Earth generates constantly rather than a "fossil fuel" derived from decaying ancient forests and dead dinosaurs.

Of course the Russians have known this for decades. So what does this mean for the Energy Pavilion?

It probably means they will remove the finale and replace it with nothing (video screens with cheap flash games in each seat).

Or maybe they will replace the dinosaurs with video screens of Pixar's Cars! Yeah! Cars run on fuel, right?! Yay for video screens!

I know what you mean. I can't believe people fell for the whole Dinosaur/Plant theory in the first place. What else is Bill Nye telling us that is wrong? :lookaroun Peak Oil? :ROFLOL:

Well, I do remember from the old Project Gemeni rumors, they were going to replace UoE with a monsters inc ride. Well, I'm happy they never did it, but we still have the crap-tacular Laugh Floor show even more displaced in tomorrowland.:brick:

Ellen was dreaming the whole attraction, right? They could just put a huge stonking sign out front saying: "Scientifically Inaccurate". And then Disney have an excuse to swap out half the ride for a Stitch touchscreen-venture! :lookaroun

Here's the problem.

1. I can't find any evidence that Science Magazine published any such article.

2. The WND, as you show, claims that the study was published "today."

3. Through Google, I've found many people claiming that "an article published in Science Magazine" supports the abiotic theory going back several years.

All of which leads me to believe this is just one of those misstatements that comes up periodically. An urban legend, if you will.

Yea...it just sounds too much like it was said by the same guy who said "Global Warming is a myth." for my tastes.
