My understanding was the light pattern in the ground was. Is that incorrect? The central plaza garden is the “literal symbol” of Epcot?

Knowing how WDI operates, I would imagine these are the best lighting fixtures on the market and it will get sorted.TWDC=Poor choices
I think they're referring to the fact that the fixture having the majority of the issues is the light up Epcot logo in the concrete. So, yes, technically the symbol of the park. The central plaza garden is the “literal symbol” of Epcot?
Agreed. People act like Epcot was absolutely perfect on opening day and it wasn’t. We need to grasp reality a bit. Doesn’t excuse what we are seeing with the lighting issues in World Celebration Gardens but the hyperbole expressed here at times is a bit silly. It will not be shut off. It's bad show but you're being a bit over-dramatic here. Let's not pretend Disneyland was perfect on opening day...
Pretty much every new ride breaks down a ton when it opens, too, and we are accustomed to that because it occurs industry-wide.
A 3rd party vendor completed installation and the vendor presumably understands how to make this type of lighting work. But, it was a custom job that will require a custom fix.
We know how WDI works. We hope their designs were not compromised by budget cuts.Knowing how WDI operates, I would imagine these are the best lighting fixtures on the market and it will get sorted.
Just the threat of being dropped as an approved vendor is often a lot of motivation. They’re also not afraid to refuse payment and litigate their unique contracts.Knowing how WDI operates, I would imagine these are the best lighting fixtures on the market and it will get sorted.
That’s a succinct contradiction. We know how WDI works. We hope their designs were not compromised by budget cuts.
Well that's no fun! How will people fill their time if they sort out these light features?Knowing how WDI operates, I would imagine these are the best lighting fixtures on the market and it will get sorted.

With addressable LEDs like these it's possible to have some leads working, while others are intermittent. This can lead to all kinds of interesting off patterns. Wrong colors, lights not working in some patterns, but working in others... some lights "stuck", etc.Like, I know it’s a software thing because one of the sections kept flashing pink. The lights themselves are clearly working

Back to the Tiana thread to complain about yellow paint.Well that's no fun! How will people fill their time if they sort out these light features?
They can simply paint over the yellow paint.Back to the Tiana thread to complain about yellow paint.
Yes WDI. As I ponder your statement eating my lunch from Woodys Lunch Box on a garbage can because excellent WDI design. Don’t worry though, that new seating area may take longer to build than Epic Universe.Knowing how WDI operates, I would imagine these are the best lighting fixtures on the market and it will get sorted.
its further proof of incredibly bad management - decisions, planning, testing, etc.I can see a few scenarios:
- Takes longer than 8 hours to sort out so they're forced to wait til after the holidays, but may not require demolition/redoing sections with better hardware/waterpoofing
- Takes longer than 8 hours because it will be demolition of some kind and putting walls up right away would be a very bad look
- Cabling or some other nonsense
- Hardware replacements backordered
In any case, this wasn't planned or tested properly and they had TONS of time to do that
WDI is only a serves as a resume builder, not a destination.its further proof of incredibly bad management - decisions, planning, testing, etc.
Fan forums should not care so much more than those who actually run the parks. That's the problem today and why I get so frustrated with what disney is becoming
Those who actually run the park are exactly why this happens!its further proof of incredibly bad management - decisions, planning, testing, etc.

I tend to partly agree. You do have management who don't care and you have those who really care, but at the end of the day you ultimately have those who can't make any drastic moves because they don't want to give the shareholders a bad report, such as the situation of William Davis and the Finance Department at Universal Orlando before the changing of the guard.Fan forums should not care so much more than those who actually run the parks. Bob is that you?I tend to partly agree. However, the problem these days isn't that of the management, whom most are doing the best with what they have. The main source of my frustration it's that of the hapless mob, and the echo chamber of the parks community and it's unbridled fear of change. Look at when D23 comes around and they announce new projects, and people way "What about Florida?" Well have anyone backed away and took a moment to see how the community reacts to ANY change. I present a few examples:
Down to even more of the mundane crap, such as firework shell colors, or if a feature is broken for a few days. There is now winning, and people need to realize that Disney such as everything in live will NEVER be prefect. Yet, many can't seem to get over that fact, and for some it's because the parks are their form of therapy, when they need to see a proper professional but alas won't because Disney is how they self-medicate.
- Harmonious: Hated and complained about sight lines, with commentary of "They replaced illuminations for this"
- Luminous: Hated and complained about sight lines, with commentary of "They replaced illuminations for this"
- Tron: Lack luster for how long it took to be built.
- The Center of Epcot Day 1: Lack luster for how long it took to be built.
- The Center of Epcot Day 4-Present: OH MY GOD ITS NEVER GETTING FIXED! IT WILL BE BROKEN FOR ALL OF IT DAYS!? (Ergo, this very thread.)
- Tiana's Bayou Adventure: I don't think I need to elaborate.
Honestly, to you all, as well as Thomas "Tommy Boy" Coreless and the other idiots that want to micromanage every little detail at Disney because they've ever seen paint that hasn't been sun faded. If you care about the parks this much that you will point out any little issue, why not work for the company? If you care so much to the parks operations, apply and get a job with Disney to push for these changes, or is it because you don't want to be bothered because it's easier to just complain behind a screen? Ad we all know why Tommy boy won't, he make's more money complaining about the littlest thing.
So,, I ask you all this: Do you want to be part of the solution, or do you want to just do nothing about it and hope that one day the issue will be fixed?

And know, this as been an issue for quite a time and not many are willing to call out anyone because they are scared to be ostracized. There is a problem when Politics and the political community is less of a headache than that of people complaining about the most minute thing at a theme park.
