You know what's one of the biggest losses of this whole redo? The fountain! I have so many memories of watching the show after park closing while waiting for my family to finish up in Mouse Gear.

Why couldn't they add that back into the plan?
The loss of a spectacular fountain display (not necessarily the old one, but the old one not being replaced by a new one) is probably the biggest issue I have with this redo. The water adds kinetics, and with the night-time color ambiance they’re adding, modern fountain coloring would’ve been gorgeous synced with SSE and the whole hub.

Getting rid of The Fountain of Nations was such a dumb mistake.

But you can't put promotional displays in a fountain...I am sure that is why we are getting these stupid planters. In the original plan there was at least another fountain near the "Wishing Tree" whatever that was supposed to be...
So now it will be a big dry spot with lots of trees and concrete? I don't get it...or why it is taking this long to complete...

I didn't even think about how incredible the lighting could have been if they kept it (with a refurbishment) and synced it with the new SSE lighting. That would have been awe-inspiring!

Well that is true...they could always do that... I think there is enough static fiberglass character displays in the park currently... more than enough. We really need water in that central courtyard... a beautiful large animated fountain would have been lovely...just not at the choke-point which was where the Fountain of Nations was...

Based on some live streams today, it looks like the entire back of the main section of Communicore Hall is now covered in GlasRoc. Joints were sealed in the two previously completed sections. Near Journey of Water, they're painting the most recently added bit of rockwork in the adjacent semicircular pebble pool, and smaller plantings seem to be going into the beds directly in front of the attraction. Much more work has been completed on the foundations of the mysterious concrete triangular structure not shown in the site plan (near the pump and filtration station), but I've still no idea what to make of it.

Agree.

In my personal opinion, the Fountain of Nations should have never been removed.
It needed extensive repair however after years I’d neglect, but could have been done.
No reason to level it and cover it with concrete.
