agree, I mean it looks kind of nice, but they could have done this with what they had and saved millions. No proper management/vision and this is what happens.
Yeah, if they wanted to just fill it with what they did, I think they should’ve left the building they knocked down, but renovated the upper half to look like this, and opened up the World Nature side of the lower half for Journey of Water. Call the four quadrants Connections Cafe, Creations Shop, Celebrations Hall, and Condensations Walk (maybe there’s a better name!). With upgraded lighting, modern signage, open windows, etc. it would’ve really brought the area alive in a cohesive way and saved them a cool hundred million dollars or so.

But even this original art, which may or may not contain a swimming pool in place of Communicore Hall, looks expensive for a lot of filler too. In all of their plans, they never had one I really thought was solid.

I’m confused more than ever what CommuniCore hall is… the Inside Out “display” almost makes it seem like there will be interactive elements that could harken back the old days of Innoventions. But the rest look like photo ops with art displays?

Is it just a place to get in the AC on a hot summer day?
I wonder if they meshed some of the aspects of play in here and dont have to open wonders of life buidling... 2 birds one mistake instead of 2 birds 2 mistakes... i mean stones... yeah stones.

Seems like with Epcot being the focal point of the 100 year anniversary at WDW, and this being the focal point of what we are getting at Epcot this year, the primary theme and reason to celebrate is going to be centered around the removal of construction walls more than anything else.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the design of the building itself. I was really worried that triangular pattern was just going to be a decal slapped onto the side of the building when they first released concept art so I was happy to see they actually did something interesting with the exterior.

I like it from this angle, but in the original concept art I thought it was going to be a big dynamic screen, so I was a little disappointed in that regard.

Overall, I'm looking forward to this and am really hoping this is all open by my currently scheduled November trip.

The concept art looks suspiciously like something an AI art generator would make.

*Goes to Midjourney*

Let's see, what are the keywords I need? Ah yes.

*types Disney, Pixar, Disney, Pixar, AVOID MARVEL, Figment but different, make it look like Innoventions but darker, include space for Art of Disney section*

Sweet! Who wants to go grab lunch?

It looks almost exactly like what was taken down. DCA actually redid their whole entrance in shorter amount of time for far greater results. I know once completed this area is still going to be better than what was there but as a fan it’s crazy this it has taken this long period.

Four years for a simple building and a landscaping project, only 2 years behind cloning a short rollercoaster in a box. Amazing pace there!

I get it - they had to trim down the original concept, and this was the best they came up with with a limited budget. What bothers me is the almost symmetry there now - symmetry that works so well if fully done.

Let’s just be happy that they cut this down rather than any attraction… wait, at least we didn’t get massive price increases… wait….

From former Imagineer Jim Shull. Ouch.

I have to disagree here. Or at least argue that it appears to be no more or less a shopping center than what was there originally.

The problem isn't what will be, aside from the spatial confusion generated by Journey of Water sitting within the monorail ring. The problem is that it's not terribly different from what was. This entire project represents a massive waste of time and money at the expense of the guest experience for very little payoff other than "a bit prettier, greener, and up-to-date", which could have been easily achieved with the existing infrastructure.
