Anyone have a link to the legal requirements for Leave a Legacy? I did a search and found the Disney page about it, but no link to legal requirements.
Yeah, I can't find the specific legal language and I've long since lost the paperwork and transparencies we received for our tiles, but I'm pretty sure the legal qualifications were the images could be relocated to elsewhere within the WDW resort at any time and that the image could be permanently removed after it had been displayed for 20 years.

That means Disney has the legal right to remove the first batch in 2019 but can't remove the last of them until 2027. While I fully expect them to relocate the steel plates sooner rather than later and remove the monoliths, I imagine they will wait for the last image to pass the 20 year threshold to remove them all at once (instead of piecemeal as each image's time comes up).

I know LaL seems to be pretty universally loathed in the fan community, but I do wish people would stop flippantly joking about "gravestones" and "cemetaries;" it's extremely disrespectful for those of us that have images there with loved ones who are no longer with us.

That being said, I do look forward to getting an open entrance plaza back over the current closed-in, austere look. I just hope they relocate the plates to some quiet corner of the park instead of unceremoniously dumping them in the trash.

So many things that need redoing in Future World. While we're on the subject of positing old iterations of the land, here are a few more things to aspire to:

A more natural Communicore Plaza

Agree. To be fair, Test Track's 2012 entrance is much improved from the original 1996/98 industrial looking one. But all the window dressing in the world won't make that scaffold roof ever look good.

Storage. The internal grandstand is full of stored items. The floor of central I believe has some items left intact but a lot has gone.

Last I checked the model was still up there.
Do you have any pics of the grandstand? I've not seen much about this area of Communicore, but it's always really interested me.
