Big changes coming to Annual Passes

So any idea what this means for us who have a regular AP right now? Does this mean Christmas week is or is not blacked out for us?

In my case FR seasonal pass becomes the Silver with no changes in benefits.

You, however, have a choice to make:
  • Gold: blockouts and PP.
  • Platinum: no blockouts and PP. $128 more
There is no tier for no blockouts and no PP.

All those screaming " I'm DONE! " sound exactly like all my smoker friends whom say the same thing every time taxes are raised on cigarettes..... Then they light up another and another....... So yes it's high. Yes Disney makes $$$ and yes they will continue to do so. IMO you are still enjoying a pretty amazing place that really does, if only for a little while, take you away from this realty of life we all live in. ☀️ °o°

The paid Disney grass roots price increase support hath arrived.

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice? Thanks but no thanks.

Is this true? I had (wrongly?) assumed that we could renew our current AP as platinum.

I'm referring to the regular AP. if you're on the current Platinum, I believe you would renew on the new Platinum Plus. Because everything is "new". Your renewal would make you a "charter" member of the new tier.

Thanks. We have the regular AP also but I assumed it would renew as platinum. I guess renewal may not be an option and we would have to pay the full price.

And that "suck it up" mentality is what allows Georgie boy to do crap like this. We're not talking about a $5 pack of smokes here, we're talking about hundreds of dollars being added on top of vacations that run in the thousands. And for me, it's not even that. To me, it's the fact that we just renewed and you would think that they would extend these new benefits to current AP holders. It's just a slap in the face.

My wife and I had taken a 3 year break on APs. We have just been taking week long trips each year. This year we have a 10 day stay in October and I really wanted to get back at Christmas to see Osborne, go in February for my wife to run the Princess 1/2 and April for me to run the Star Wars 1/2. With all that, I told her "We'll just upgrade our tickets to APs when we go." Well now, I'm furious. I can guarantee that I just won't pay that much more for APs. Absurd. And I'll just pass on going to Osborne and we'll stay off property for our two races.

I can spend my money elsewhere.

Including this year's earlier price increase:

2014 Annual Pass: $634
2015 Platinum Pass: $749
Percentage increase: 18.1%

2014 Premium Annual Pass: $754
2015 Platinum Plus Pass: $829
Percentage increase: 10.0%

Yes, I recognize the new APs include PhotoPass downloads so it's not exactly an apples-to-apples comparison but my DD's just spent 6 days at the parks and had no problem finding CMs willing to take photos using their cameras.

In 2010, the AP was $499. Today's price of $749 represents a 50.1% increase in only 5 years.

But I'm sure your employer has increased your pay by 50% over the last 5 years.
