I have personally felt that the “opening season” is irrelevant, I would never book a March trip based on a “Spring opening”. Without a solid announcement date, I wouldn’t do anything. That’s just me though, it’s very annoying that they don’t stick to any timeline

Yeah, it was always vague in the past. Summer opening can be anywhere from May to August and that makes sense.

Disney has completely ruined it to where it can mean a year different to not at all.

I have a bad feeling this “mini-land” will occur, but it will be massively scaled down. The Coco FOP-like attraction could just end up as a spinner at the trackless Encanto dark ride could be a walkthrough. Pair that with a ridiculously expensive restaurant, a few shops, and a ton of meet and greets. I sincerely hope I’m wrong, but Disney doesn’t have a good track record as of late.
When have they done something like this recently besides Toy Story Land? I would've preferred if they were more ambitious with Toy Story but it's still fun & gives HS an area for the younger crowd.

Meanwhile, Pandora & Galaxy's Edge are both amazingly themed lands with impressive E-tickets & solid smaller attractions. Now both lands could really use some more kineticism to them (give me walk around droids & aliens in GE!), but they're not like what you described lmao

What I'd really be worried about this potential land is that Coco & Encanto would both be crowd attracting E-tickets, but then there's no flatrides or something smaller to help with the crowds.

At this point I just hope Disney starts building something. This idea is promising.

I kind of wish Disney would take a more Universal approach and not announce new additions until shovels are already in the ground. It would be a rough two years or so of more or less no announcements, but I feel like it would help with the "Disney takes too long to build things" mentality as so often the issue is that Disney announces an attraction so long before construction has even started (like Pandora or Tron) and it would also help with the issue of complaints when Disney announces an attraction that they ultimately never build.
Universal takes it to the other extreme; they announce plans so late. It's very odd that we don't officially know anything coming to Epic Universe, even though development is progressing very quickly. I think there needs to be a better balance.

Also, tbf this still wouldn't help Disney as they currently take forever even after they've started construction.

Just because Universal can't tell the difference between a churro stand and a roller coaster is no reason to dis their timelines....
We knew about the churro stand and I knew they were putting a coaster in JP when they demo'ed Dueling Dragons. Plenty of info around even if it isn't a blue shovel groundbreaking event

Almost anything that is going to be built that involves any level of budget is going to be crowd attracting marketing type rides. There is no reason to spend millions of dollars on something that doesn't drive people to come and experience it.

Now that being said, that doesn't mean it has to be a new 3min coaster type ride either. RotT is a crowd attracting marketing type ride, but when working still takes in alot of people and isn't over in 2 minutes. So is Navi (though like many here it could be a bit longer, but I still find it to be an amazing ride.) Disney shouldn't be spending money to create rides with the idea that the ride should just serve to take away people who don't want to wait in other lines. If people aren't excited to ride a new ride, it shouldn't be build, it doesn't matter how many people an hour you can fit in it.

Smaller rides shouldn't be the focus of their output. But they should still exist to supplement the larger rides. That way people aren't going from 40+ min line to 40+ min line. They can do something in between that might only have a 10 min wait.

This helps with the bigger rides' lines too. Maybe Flight of Passage wouldn't permanently be at an hour or more if AK had more small scale rides to keep people occupied for a bit.

I don't think Pandora needs any kineticism; that would detract from the "natural" beauty. It's supposed to be a quiet, abandoned place. Galaxy's Edge definitely does, though.

I think your last part of the post nailed it.
With Universal, It is not usually a problem when there is always something(s) new in the works.
Dreamworks is officially announced as the theme of the new revamped Kid Zone area, but we don't know details yet, but we do have Minion Blast officially announced and opening this summer.

Nintendo was already announced as a land.

I don't think so. It's supposed to be teaming with life, hence the constant nature sounds, drums, exo-suit, rushing waterfalls, etc

Natural life, though, which is the important thing. It's why there are ruined/overgrown buildings. I think Pandora would be worse if it had regular shows, roaming characters, etc. whereas Galaxy's Edge would be improved.

I think the mech suit idea was a good concept, it was just written, and show directed badly.

I sort of agree, but I’ve thought birds up high around the floating rocks would be perfect. (I have no idea how they would accomplish this.)

Anything "natural" like that, yeah, I'd be on board. That would actually be really cool. They could even just do something like have an AA flying creature from FoP (no idea what they're called) perched on top of one of the rocks with some movement.

Maintenance would probably be really tough being both exposed to the elements and in a location that's not easily accessible, though.

Can everyone see me? Great, welcome to the Avatar Program. Soon, you’re gonna have a chance to undertake an amazing Na’vi rite of passage: flying on the back of this powerful animal called an ikran, or as we call it, a banshee.
