My parents took us there when we were kids, teenagers and grown ups. Then I worked there and had the chance to pay that back to them letting them in for free...yeah! hehe
That has been certainly the best year of my life! :)

This is an easy one for me....it has to be the first time I took my daughter in 1993...there's nothing like seeing the astonishment in a child's eyes when they first gaze upon Mickey and Minnie. It suddenly occurs to you that you finally understand Walt's dream and that his 'magic,' somehow, has eternally embeded itself deep within your child's heart...and, perhaps, just a small teardrop wells in the corner of your eye.
For many people, when the fantasy is gone, it's gone forever and they spend the rest of their lives trying to physically replicate that which is mentally gone.:( I feel sorry for them.

My best memory has to be the first time I went with my wife (then girlfriend), the look on her face as we went across Seven Sea Lagoon was priceless, just sheer joy and excitement. Then seeing her reaction to he MK as we walked around, it really was wonderful.

Oh, I remember going when I was four, and my dad going back to purchase more tickets for me. :) I waited with my godmother (not a fairy one) while everyone went on Space Mountain....I loved it. :)

My family went every year for many years starting when I was about 15.... Watching my then-9-year-old brother see it for the first time... taking him on PotC... but it was really the only time we spent time together as a family without other obligations.

And of course, this years trip(s) are a stand out for me....going alone and just doing what I wanted. :)

Brings a smile to my face when I see people commenting about visiting WDW with their families...

We were too poor to go on vacation except for a trip to the Poconos one summer....and, of course, Disneyland was on the other side of the earth for us and WDW wasn't even an idea in Walt's mine yet.

I was 13 when my dad died and that just about killed any chances of going anywhere until I could afford to go myself.

Neither of my parents ever took a vacation with their families, and when I was little, we couldn't afford it. As soon as they had the money, though, we went away together every summer.

We've always been close, though....Until my brother moved out last fall we still ate dinner together every night, and if all 4 couldn't get to the table at the same time we ate in pairs so no one ate alone.

It was strange to stay alone this time in the hotel that we stayed in growing up--I could see my little brother all over the hotel...the younger him I miss so much. Now he's 24 and very cool... ;)

MY favorite Memories occur every time I GO to Disney World!

I like to find a good spot to watch Illuminations about an HOUR before it starts. I'm a pretty big man so I take up alot of space...lol
Then...just before it starts I find 3 or 4 children that are trying to see from behind me and I bring them up to the front and let them watch from my spot. The looks on their faces as they watch is soooo worth the hour I stood there. :)

:p

Tramp,

My longest lasting memory is when I went for the first time in 1972. I was four years old. Since then every memory of WDW has been fantastic. For me it is the Happiest place on earth. I forget every stress I have when I'm there.

The thing I look forward to most is laking my daughter when she is old enough. (she is one year old) I just hope her response is as memorable as yours was for your daughter. You are a lucky person Tramp hang on to that memory.

One of my favorites was hearing my then 18 month old screaming "Mic Mouse" over and over again. Another was when my father-in-law got picked to be the angel in the "finale" at the Hoop-De-Doo. We laughed so hard we were crying. Another cool experience was when I was in Epcot with one of my boyfriends and we were waiting to get our picture with Mickey by American Adventure. There must have been a tour group trying to get to him and they were taking forever. So Mickey walks away from them and takes my hand and pulls me to the area where he was standing. All I could hear was "who's that girl"? It payed off for me to be patient.

Best Times At Disney

I have been to WDW 5 times ( twice to Disneyland and three times to Orlando ) and I am going again in the first week of December... I am looking forward to it very much.

But the Best time at WDW was the first time I went many, many years ago when I took my Mom with me on vacation to Orlando.

It was the first time we did something like that since I was a kid...We really enjoyed ourselves.

Out of the 15 times I have been there, there is no way to pick one magical moment. Honestly, I don;t even remember the frist time being there vividly. Like said above, everytime I am there with my family is the best time. I by far have the most fun with my brother though. We are true proff that even though you might be 23 and 28, you can have as much fun as any kid can (Well, more actually:D)

I was spoiled rotten to as a kid, we always stayed at Fort Wilderness, which made it easier and chepaer to stay for longer periods (Month at a time in the summers during HS) My best memories are really not of the park, but jsut being in that atmosphere, being able to relaxm and not worry about anything at all...

The best time to be in the parks though is around Christmas time, nothing matches the magic in the MK and ECPOT during that time...

We never got to go to WDW when I was a child. Last year was my second time visiting Disney. We were able to take my 5 year old during her birthday. On the day we celebrated her birthday, we brought her to Hollywood & Vine for a character lunch. She was treated so special. She was given a present and a birthday card that was signed by all of the characters there. At the World of Disney store, the ladies working there went out of their way when they found out about her birthday. They arranged for her to have a phone call from Goofy and gave her a special birthday card signed by everyone. My daughter was all smiles that day.

MISS THOSE TIMES!

I also miss those times, no worries, no money problems!

My parents took us about twice a year. We would ALWAYS stay at the contemporary for about 12 days at a time. I LOVED IT.

I sometimes get sad when I think of those times, because I wish I was there again.

Its funny how when you are small you cant wait to get older, and as you get older, you wish you were a kid again!

Oh well
