Title says it all! I am sorry if this has been discussed already, but I am looking for a restaurant that has a view of illuminations and has great food. I have Spice Road Table booked right now but I have heard the food is very so-so. Any incite would be helpful!

Thanks!

We've had great views of illuminations during dinner from both Rose & Crown as well as.La Hacienda de San Angel. IMO, the food is better at R&C than LH. BUT there is NO guarantee that you will get a great view at either of these restaurants!

I would recommend Rose and Crown. Make the reservation where you will have enough time to ask the cm for a good seat. That is my favorite view of illuminations. I've watched them in the VIP area to the side of the pub.

Looks like there are no ADR's available around the 8 o'clock hour for our trip in January. I guess i will keep trying! Thanks again for the advice!

I'm not sure who is dissing Spice Road's food. I've had two meals there, and the food was excellent both times.

There are exactly 3 restaurants around the World Showcase Lagoon that have water views - Rose & Crown, Spice Road Table, and La Hacienda de San Angel. Any of them would work great, but La Hacienda is probably the easiest to get an ADR for.

Rose & Crown! Was there in sept. Just happened to be walking by and told my friend that I heard that was a great place to view Illuminations. We walked up and a party of 10 had just cancelled. We got 8:00 seating for that night outside and it was the best ever. Unbelievable luck!

Today, you can book ADRs out to May 30. Apparently, you can book Rose and Crown up to 8pm. I got one for 7:50pm.

I found that with LaHacienda you don't know where you'll be seated. My seat was against the back wall. I found myself craning my neck back and forth trying to get a good view through the window.

We would love to eat at Rose and Crown and watch Illiminations in the future-something we have never done (would work best for us when we stay in the Boardwalk area and can walk home). My question is, what is the noise level from the show if the table is indoors?

So my question would be, if you are making a rez for 7:50PM, are you basically sitting there and holding the table you are at until 9? The Cast Members don't mind even though they are technically closed at 8?

No, they understand. Plus, they're still delivering meals after 8 PM, they just stop seating at 8. You can get a nice Guinness or cup of tea and just sip slowly then some bread pudding or whatever.

A 7:40PM table just opened up and I snagged it! Thanks for the advice everyone! Hopefully we will be able to get a waterfront table :D

FWIW- Tokyo Dining has a great view of Illuminations, but it's really difficult to get those tables by the window/deck.
Thanks!

We tried this in September but couldn't get a window seat (I believe there are only like 5 or 6 tables by the windows) but if you get a window seat, thats a prime location.
