I found that with LaHacienda you don't know where you'll be seated.

I've never watched IllumiNations from there, but I usually ask for a seat by the window anyway, and have never been disappointed.

I'm not sure if you're kidding or not, but there is NO view of IllumiNations from the San Angel Inn.

We tried this in September but couldn't get a window seat (I believe there are only like 5 or 6 tables by the windows) but if you get a window seat, thats a prime location.

Exactly, it's my fave location.

If you want a guaranteed good location then get some counter service food and set up by the fence at least 45 minutes before it starts. The TS restaurants are tough to get the window seats or outdoor seats next to the water @ R & C. You can ask, but no not get your hopes up because most other patrons are looking for the same seats.

I have been lucky in the past and had water side R & C and window @ La Hacienda, but more times than not we have been denied those seats.
