I am planning a trip in October and wanted everyone's opinion on which resort or resorts would be best for the money. Its just me, my dw and ds are going.

We really enjoy POP. How old is your son? If he is into sports there is All Star Sports. When we first went our daughter was 5 and we stayed at All Star Movies. It was great. The atmosphere is wonderful. As she has gotten older we go to POP. Our trip in 2008 we couldn't get into POP so we stayed at All Star Music and it was good too but we just like garishness (is that a word) of Movies or POP. Where ever you decide, have a great time!!

It depends on when you are going, Free dining? We have been to all resorts, value- deluxe- dvc. mods are the best value. Some mods are better than others, with the worst being pofq, only due to the fact that they have the smallest beds of any resort. Other than that, bussing is the same everywhere. The deluxes have mono, which is great, and great restaurants, but not well valued if you are not a picky eater or have to get to two parks rapidly. Mods is the way to go. CBR is our favorite due to theming. Get a POTC room for even more theming. Have a great time!

The fact that you can walk to two of the parks really elevates the Swan/Dolphin hotel in my eyes.

BTW how does one go about getting those "special rates?"

IMHO Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter provide the best bang for the buck. They have great immerse theming without the price tag of a deluxe, the rooms are slightly larger than a value, and the resort layouts are better than the other moderates.

Count another vote for Master Yoda.

If I gave my weird answer it would be for our stay at the Boardwalk Villas. We stayed in a one bedroom villa and "rented" our points through a DVC member. We paid a little more than our stay at a moderate and I've never had a better resort experience. Beware though, points double on Fri. and Sat.

Depending on what we want to do on our trips really impacts where we stay. In the spring we were at the parks most of the time and we stayed at Pop...clean room, EMH's, single bus transportation. This summer we are going back in July. We know it will be hot and crowded. We want to be able to take mid day breaks and enjoy the pool...so we opted to use the discount and stay at the Yacht Club. We love being able to walk to MGM & Epcot and the bus ride to MK and AK have never given us grief.

So in the spring when temps are nice and we are going all day morning to night..Pop. When we go in the summer and want to take breaks - Yacht/ Beach or Boardwalk.

Hi there! What kind of room are you looking at? Deluxe, Moderate? If it is Deluxe - then I would recommend WL - it is a great resort - cheaper then the other Deluxes and lovely all the way around. If you are looking at Moderate - I would recommend Port Orleans. Friends stayed there and said that it was lovely.
