Best Resort for Teens/Young Adults

Me and three of my friends(all of which will be 18 at the time) are planning a trip to the world as a little "senior trip". we don't really know where to stay though. here is what we want in our hotel.

Either Moderate or Value
No Deluxe Resort(Spending $200+ a night is crazy)
Not to far of a walk from the food court to rooms
No more than a 5 minutes walk to get to pools.
Good Bus System
A room with Two sinks would be nice(not needed)
Somewhere that there is enough room in the food court so that you aren't running to beat someone else to a table.
Something that feels like Disney(which is most resorts on prop)

any help is appreciated=]

we plan to go April 2010(yes i know more than a year away) but we all need to start saving money.

side note, we are going during peak season next year, should we call and book when april 2009 comes around or wait until around august when 2010 rates come out?

I think POFQ meets your requirements the best. The rooms are a little larger than the values, which could be good with four teens in a room! Also, it is a short walk to everything at the resort, and the bus service is good. As for the values, I'd recommend POP. Either way, have fun!

My boyfriend and I make the trip to disney about once a year (we're both 21 now, but have been going since we were 18). We've stayed at Pop and SSR (but my grandparents are DVC members, so that's the only reason why!); and we're going to be staying at POFQ.

But, I think for the four of you I'd recommend Pop. I mean, the room split between 4 people would be pretty cheap, and the hotel has a really good lay out--- I'd say it definitely meets all of your requirements.

None of the Moderates are more Disney themed to be worth the money. I'd sugest staying at Pop Century.

The summer after I graduated from High School a friend and I stayed at Saratoga Springs for 4 days but wouldn't have stayed there had my parents not had DVC points to use. Last Spring Break my friend and I stayed at Cornado Springs because we booked so late. It was nice but not worth the extra money. Fall Break and this coming Spring Break my friends and I are staying at Pop Centry and LOVE it. One friend loves the 80s so we stay over there which isn't too far from the buses (Just a quick walk through the parking lot) and you don't have to pay the preferred rate.

Have fun planning!

thanks for all the help so far guys:)

i have stayed at Pop, All-star Music, and CB. out of those 3 i have liked pop the best and CB the least. i have heard lots of good things about POR and POFQ. So right now it's looking like either POP,POR, or POFQ. I know one of the POs is closer to the food court and one is quieter. which is which? and do POR and POFQ use the same buses or is it a different bus system for each?

I'd go with POFQ it meets all the requirements you mentioned. However keep in mind that no matter which you choose, values and moderates (I'm almost positive) only have full-beds not queens.

Do all rooms at Coronado have queen bed or do you have to ask for them?!?

to everyone else is POR better than POFQ or is it the other way around?

Last spring break our reservation said it was a queen but when we got there it was two doubles.

I've heard that POFQ is better since its smaller. I was going to stay there in August but my mom wants to save the $40 so Dad and I are staying at Cornado.

The reservation options are either ONE KING bed or Standard... all standard rooms are being upgraded from Doubles, to Queens. Not sure how far along they are, but every room will eventually hold either 2 queens or 1 King. If you had paid for a king room, you should have spoken up and gotten that King, not 2 doubles. Some one else may know which rooms have already gotten the refurb. Also, not sure where your mom is saving 40$... all moderates are the same price, Just saying.....

With the exception of the approximate 75 rooms still getting king beds, all rooms that are getting the two queen beds have them. They have finished the rehab in Cabanas 9A and 9B, 8A and 8B, Ranchos 6A and the 4th floor of Casitas 1, 2 and 3. They are now currently doing the rehab in Ranchos 6B and will move to Casitas 5 from there. The CSR also has a fitness center/spa if any of the teens are interested, a great pool with a 123 foot slide and a sand volleyball court and the largest hot tub of all the moderates.

 I think it depends on if you will spend more time in the parks or more time at the resort. My favorite value by far is Pop and my favorite moderat is POFQ or Riverside. Coronado Springs is very pretty but very spread out. If you do the value you will also have more spending money!! :sohappy:

Being teens I would stay at POP. save your money for something else. POR and FQ share busses. POFQ is probably closer to the food court since its smaller in size but POR has room right outside the food court, too. Look at a map and see what buildings are where first. I wouldnt go with Coronado for teens. Have a magical trip.

Remember that values are smaller than mods and with 4 adults in the room it may get crampy. If you do choose a value, i'd say Pop all the way...it was awesome.

For a mod, POFQ is the smallest of them which means the shortest walks for you. It is pretty and worth the $. Plus with 4 of you it will be really cheap.

Price out a deluxe and see the difference per person. Given that you will be sharing the room, it may be fairly inexpensive and worth the little $ for the extra square footage and ameneties. It can't hurt to price out the difference and divide it by 4. :)

No matter where you stay you will be immersed in Disney 24/7 and have the best time! I went on 3 trips with just friends and we had a great time each time.

Not sure whether the poster mentioned whether it was girls or boys traveling- but I know even 3 people in a room is tight. FYI- I know that some of the pools have bathroom/showers next to them. That's for when you are fighting over the bathroom and shower. If you're near the pool- you can make use of this feature. The Pop definately has these. They also have indoor and outdoor seating at the Food Court. Plus- you can't beat the Hustle!

We just stayed at POP Century, we had a "preferred" room and it was nice...nothing special really, but it was close to the pool, food court, main building, and the buses. Next year however we are going to go back to The Caribbean Beach Resort, ive always loved this resort, and if u ask for a preferred room, you should be close to pools and food courts!:p

Room sizes

I believe the All-Star resorts have rooms that are about 260 sq ft.

Moderates, except for CB are 314 sq ft.

CB is the oldest of the Moderates, and are 340 sq ft.

Also, the Moderates have mini-fridges in the room. Fridge is extra for the All-Star

All star was cramped for a family of 5 (one in crib, other two under 10). I can't imagine 4 teen boys. The room will get trashed pretty quickly. Then again, if all you do is sleep there, it won't matter much.
