Please tell me where you think the best place is to have a birthday meal and why it doesn't matter if its breakfast lunch or dinner. I am looking for places to eat for my DD 6th b-day. If they do anything special for birthdays please explain. Thank you for any advice you can give me I am hoping to make this the best birthday ever for DD!

My vote is for Chef Mickey's...

My partner and I dined there during our trip in September for his birthday. (He turned 25... but that doesn't mean we don't like the special Disney way they celebrate it!)

The waitress presented him with a special plastic placemat, signed by all the characters. And after we finished our breakfast, she brought out a cupcake with a candle, and had everyone nearby sing happy birthday.

At 25, he got a kick out of it all... I'm sure a 6 year old will love it! Plus, you have the fun of character dining.

Enjoy your trip!

I would think that for a little girl 1900 Park Fare would be a special and fun place to have a birthday celebration. She could even dance with the Prince, if you go for dinner.

My Daughter also turns 6 when we are in Disney next month. We booked a dinner at the Hoop-De-Doo. They took her name when we made the reservations., they do something during the show including singing Happy Birthday to all the birthday people there. My Daughter loves sing and dancing and is looking forward to playing the washboard during the show.

I would recommend Chef Mickey's for dinner.
BTW-you can order a b-day cake from WDW & have it delivered to your restaurant of choice.

We've celebrated birthdays at several restaurants and they have all been alot of fun. Crystal Palace had the table decorated with mickey confetti. They also brought a cupcake and signed card. The Plaza brought out a beautiful (and delicious) cake for my son. When we celebrated my DH's birthday at The Garden Grill, when it was a character dining, our server brought over a cake and the characters came over to help sing "Happy Birthday." CRT had a little show for anyone celebrating a birthday or anniversary. As previous posters mentioned, 1900 Park Fare and Chef Mickey's are great choices.
Have a great time wherever you go

last year I took my DD/6 to Cinderella's Magic Table. Great chance to dine in the castle. have to book way ahead(the very first day you can at 8 AM) also pretty expensive. Also, the Princess dining in Norway, a great experience if your DD is really into princesses.

Last time we were at Chef Mickey's we saw a little girl celebrating her birthday. Before they were seated at her table the servers decorated the table with confetti, balloons and a present. (I'm sure the parents had bought and arranged for that ahead of time.) Mickey brought a cake out to her when they sing their Celebrate song. I'm sure they special ordered that as well. Then all the characters came over and everyone sang Happy Birthday to her. The look on her face was priceless!

I like Cinderella's Royal Table, because for my honeymoon they did a lot to surprise us & help us celebrate. We got a window seat overlooking Fantasyland, balloons, confetti, and were pulled first in line to meet Cinderella. It was truly magical on top of that, to eat in the castle & meet the princesses. I can't imagine how much better it would be for a 6 year old celebrating a birthday! :)

Last year we were there during my 13 and 6 yr old's birthdays (they share the day) and we had dinner at Chef Mickey's . They brought out a signed card and cupcakes out and sang Happy Birthday to the boys. We will be there the same week again this year so we're going back to Chef Mickeys again on their birthday. I think if your daughter is into the princess's than any of the princess meals would be a good choice. We've been to Akershus in Norway, which is great because you get to see most of the princesses (even got lucky and Cinderella was there) but this year we're going to try 1900 Park Fare because my 3 yr old is obsessed with Cinderella. The Royal Table is great but like the other poster said make sure if you want to go there you are on the phone as soon as the lines open up 90 days prior to the date you want to go.

Does anyone know how to go about having the tables decorated with confetti and balloons? I would pay extra for it just wondering how to do it. Also if I brought a small package of confetti do you think they would decorate the table for me? Any help would be great!!!

While we were at Chef Mickey's last trip a little girl and her grandmother both were celebrating birthdays. They special ordered a cake, balloons, confetti and gifts and had all but the cake waiting for them at their table when they arrived. When the characters go around and sing the "celebrate" song, Mickey and Goofy delivered the cakes out (or a cm delivered them and the characters followed, don't exactly remember which) but then came back after making their quick song rounds and "sang" happy birthday with everyone and paid special attention to them. I think if you order stuff from the WDW Florist and order a cake and have a gift waiting for your daughter at the table, maybe the characters may spend some extra time with her so you can get some extra good pictures.

For a little girl, I think 1900 Park Faire is very good. If she's into Cinderella that is. We took my great-niece there when she turned 6. They gave her a wand and the characters wished her a happy birthday. Chef Mickey's is good too, but not quite as personal.

Had my youngest daughter's birthday at Chef Mickey's last year. She was bummed out b/c it was her actual birth date and here friends weren't there (preteens are a mess lol). She had a seperate one with her friends when she got back. Yes, she chose Chef Mickey's.
