Best place to eat in a resort or Downtown Disney

If you want to get back fairly quickly, I would recommend somewhere you wouldn't need to get 2 buses - eg we found AKL a bit of a pain as you have to change at a park or DD, not so bad when the parks are open late but can be long winded otherwise.

Also you need to think of whether you'll be needing a large meal. EoS is great but if you have large appetites they may not be enough - I would agree with Ghiradelli's for dessert though.

Wolfgfang Puck Cafe is ok, the Express just as good and a lot cheaper. I quite like Rainforest although many on here don't, and Raglan Road varies. It can be noisy in there but if you're eating early it should be ok.

Pop's food court is pretty good. You wouldn't even have to leave!
You are so right! I just figured we would be eating breakfast there most mornings...and probably a lot of late dinners, so we would try something we normally wouldn't go to.
By the way, I LOVE POP CENTURY, too! This will be our 3rd time staying there. Last year we tried Ft. Wilderness, which was nice, but not at all worth the money when you don't do anything but shower and sleep there. And to be honest, I think the hopitality and cleanliness was much better at POP. Plus, we have a 4 year old and she could care less about a beautiful wooden lodge. But, she does love POP. It's so fun to have her point to things like an 8track tape and say "What's that?" At her age there isn't any point of reference...it's what we had before cassettes...What?....you know the things before cds......What? ......Ummm, it played music! Oh, kids are fun! Sorry to go off topic. But, Yes! POP does have GREAT food! :)

Thank You and you do bring up a very good point: THE BUSES!!! The very words make me cringe! When I was younger and even pre-kids we always drove. So, if we didn't want the busses to be an issue, they weren't. But, I gotta say I have become such a fan of flying down. An hour and 1/2in the air versus 14 hours in a car, with a now 4 year old.....The plane is the clear choice, for us. But, anyway. A lot of folks have suggested EoS. I can't believe I've never eaten there. This may be the winner. Thanks

Your DD would like 1900 Park Fare inside the Grand Floridian. It has the characters from Cinderella. Might be a fun way to start off your vacation. My DS (12) danced with one of the step-sisters. It was hysterical!!!!

I suggest Sanna at Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas- Kidani Village. Great view of the animals while you eat. Your daughter will love it.

I don't care for the food at Disney, I think it's pretty horrific, but hey, how are you going to feed all those people and have good food? If I were you, I'd dine at a restaurant in Downtown Disney. Bongos, Portobello, etc. Since you said you won't be going to the park that day, I think you should spend the evening at Downtown Disney. Lots of shops and restaurants and other things to do! I'd check it out :)

What??????

Ah, you must have forgotten your ranting from yesterday. I will remind you.

Because I posted a thread about resort restaurants and asking for suggestions from others, and this person blasts me for not posting in the correct area. Seriously????? I wasn't bothering a soul and I get reprimanded like a child because this person feels like he/she is the forum God! I didn't realize this was such a hateful site. Maybe the best thing for you to do, is to go look in a mirror and ask "Why am I acting like such a "! Sounds like you older members are the ones wanting to "start problems". I mean this is a site about an amusement park and company. RELAX!!! You aren't balancing the budget or performing life saving proceedures. Lighten UP!!!! Please forgive those of us who mistakenly though we were just asking a question. Geeeeezzz!

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Totally agree with you! We also have a 4 year that so wanted to stay at POP for our trip in September but, the kid in me wanted to stay at AOA. Sooooooo..........we did a split stay 5 nights at AOA & 2 at POP. Loved AOA but, we pay for a preferred room at POP and prefer the closeness & convenience of the rooms to the food court. So, next stay is probably going to be POP again!

Oh, I will enjoy the rest of my day, because I am getting some great suggestions from fellow site members who are actually here to help and answer questions. This will be the last time I will acknowledge you exist. I have now "ignored" you. I hope this will be the conclusion of our beautiful friendship! And I hope you have a zippity do dah day!!!

i don't think the constant commenting on how great restaurants at Disney are is helping your deciding on dining options much
You are totally right, but I can't help but comment. I'm a conversational person, and sometimes I don't follow chat forums "rules and regulations". But I like people, I like them to know I appreciate what they have to say. I'll try to keep it to a minimum! Sorry

By the way, I reported your frightening PM.

Isn't it odd how actions have consequences?

This message was meant for someone who keeps attacking me every time I post. I won't call him out, but trust me...If you are on here long enough you'll meet him!

True the buses can be rubbish but not so bad if you only need to catch one for your journey. And they are included in the cost (I won't say 'free'!). We are from the UK so don't have the option of driving down, we could hire a car but it seems pointless when the buses are costed into out holiday, and mostly they aren't too bad. If your dining plans are at awkward times or you're running late, there is always the taxi option. Tbh we have had some of our most memorable holiday moments on those buses.

EoS is certainly a great meal, although as I said, not very large. Enough for me after a day's travelling though. Also the new Splitzville has several eating places - untried but may be worth a visit!
