This has been a helpful thread. I hate being out in the rain but it sounds as if AK is worth the trouble.
Thanks. :sohappy:

Thread Bump

Since the parks have had a down pour the past week I thought I would just revisit this thread.
So I will have to say Epcot since there are many restaurants that you can run to for shelter, hang out have a drink a snack and take a break.
Also if your in FW there are usually so many things to occupy your time in the Pavillions that you don't feel like your time is being wasted.
DAK comes in close second.

I keep hearing that AK is the nicest place to be when it rains. I may try that myself one of these times. I like to be at EPCOT though, so many things to do inside as well as Hollywood Studios. I have beeen stuck many of times at Hollywood Studios in the rain and love to draw or The Great Movie Ride.

The worst would be Epcot. I was in several inches of water in May during a horrible rainstorm every day I was there.

Magic Kingdom (outside of the park) is HORRIBLE.

The best would AK - but if there is severe weather, all the animal and outside rides will close.

Doesn't matter which park I'm in, long as I have a good mini umbrella with me I am set to go. Much easier to put it up and down then climb in and out of those hot, humid ponchos each time I go in and out of a building. But if I had to choose 1 park, Epcot!!! :)

Epcot was the worst for us having a young child with us. there was nowhere to hide!! Never been caught at HS. at MK was cool cause the park got real empty real fast!! no wait times!!!!!!!:D and at AK was really nice and beautiful except when it started really raining hard on us we were on EE and the gift shop took about 10 minutes to get through because of all the people trying to hide and buy ponchos. but the funny part of that was that about 15 minutes later the sun came out and the rest of the day was great!!! to us the rain is no big deal cause we are Floridians anyway and know how the weather is during different times of the year and we knew this was only a little shower which would not last long anyway and its always fun to watch the tourists who dont really know our weather try to outrun and/or buy a poncho for 20 minute showers!!! now it was summer and it was in the afternoon, id have to find another thing to do cause the lightning is deadly here in the storms. there can be a storm 50 miles away and still be hit by lightning. its happened!!

I got caught in the effects of a hurricaine last September in Epcot while walking around World Showcase - My least favorite trip I ever had at Epcot - took a lot of the beauty out of it-I almost want to experience AK in the Rain after hearing everyone rave about it.

We have been caught in the rain while at MK and AK and AK was by far the best. Maybe because it adds to the atmophere like has been said, but almost everyone is still enjoying themselves (still some crabby people trying to stay dry). "It's just rain! You could be at home (booo). I feel sorry for the CM's trying to clear people out of the queue's that won't move. We couldn't get out of IASW :dazzle: several years ago because the exit was packed.

You're all going to hate me but my mom and I were at the Magic Kingdom the day Katrina hit New Orleans. Nobody knew how bad it was going to be but we went to the Magic Kingdom and I swear we were the only ones there other than CMs and a hand full of guests, there was just a few rain showers but we walked right on to everything.

May I wax poetic for a moment?

Once in the Magic Kingdom it started raining.
They cleared the guests from the Dumbo ride but the mouse atop the ride, the circus master, kept spinning around as usual. The rain was coming down but there he was, still at his post, having fun as he normally does.

At first you were tempted to think, "Doesn't that mouse have sense enough to get out of the rain?".
But after watching him for a few more minutes it became clear that he was thinking, as he spun around, "Come back, humans and have fun on this ride. It's only water. Why did you leave just because of some water?
I don't understand. Come back and ride."

End of poetic reflective inner self stuff.

Any of the parks but EPCOT, like everyone has said the rain gives ak the extra cool theme, MK has a lot of indoor rides so it's not that bad, and the same with DHS there are some good rides and shows that are indoors..epcot wouldn't be that be in future world but walking around WS in the rain is terrible

We were there last summer and experienced rain at all of the parks. My favorite was probably MK and AK coming in at a close second. The only downside of the rain at MK is not being able to just sit down on a bench and take in everything. We kind of rushed from attraction to attraction but with the rain the waits on rides were alot shorter.
