Best Park in the Rain!

I am not a play-in-the-rain kind of person. I do not enjoy getting soaked and dirty and then smelling like a wet dog all day. But despite the rain yesterday, I drove down for a daytrip to Orlando, after seeing the Jim Henson display at the History Museum (which is awesome!) I went over to Animal Kingdom. Even though it was rainy throughout the day, it was the best time I had ever had at Animal Kingdom!

First because of the rain, the crowds were pretty thin, which is always a plus

Second, the rain added to the theme of the park and I really felt like I was deep in the jungle

And third, EE is a great ride but it is SO MUCH FUN in the rain. It just added another element to the ride. There was no one int he single rider line so I kept riding over and over again.

Even though I'd rather have sunshine, the rain really did make my day a little more magical!

Not Epcot the drainage in my favorite park us terrible especially in the WS between UK an France it floods very fast.

My favorite would have to be AK you see so many more animals out when it rains.

I kind of love them all when it rains.

But I do think that Animal Kingdom is the most beautiful wet park I've ever seen and it's fun to get on rides while it's raining there.

Magic Kingdom seems to clear out quickest when the rain starts so I normally end up having the best time there.

I agree with the above posts that AK is probably the coolest park in the rain, but personally I haven't been there in a downpour to confirm for myself.

It seems like the park I'm always at when it's pouring is MK, so that's all I've experienced. As a little kid and as an adult, I only recall MK in the rain.

Now I really want to hit AK in the rain!

AK is the best hands down because it actually has something added to it by the rain. The animals are so playful in the rain. We usually ride the safari over and over and over.

I was at Hollywood Studios in a torrential downpour once - and it was kind of fun. A lot of the queue's are indoors & the park pretty much cleared out too. We were running around in poncho's. I was also in Epcot in the rain too and that was miserable. Try walking around World Showcase like that - a total mess. I'll go with HS!

Epcot...we got caught a few trips back, one day in the rain, but it just didn't matter. We were there, having fun and just walking along...

The problem with Epcot in the rain is in WS there is no covered walkways to get from pavilion to pavilion. This combined with the poor drainage makes for very soggy touring.

Can't remember what MK is like but I'd probably like it best there. AK also seems to be too far spaced out and DHS not that exciting (aside from seeing ToT in rain).

When it happened to me I didn't think it was very fun.
They closed the ride which I wasn't bothered about but because of the weather we all stayed in the undercover queue listening to the CMs and people in the queues telling some funny and not very funny jokes for an hour.

All of them. Rain makes guests scatter like rats and they don't move from shelter. A few here and there with umbrellas and ponchos but most stay indoors and that means less wait times through out the park(s). I don't care about rain. I'd rather be soaked in rain not sweat.

My favorite would also have to be Animal Kingdom. A little rain just sets the mood even more, and it's the best time to see the animals.

AK! I have a wonderful memory from Easter Break 2004. It started raining on us while waiting for the safari and we weren't under the covered part yet. My students were freaking out at first and then started laughing at each other for being in the rain in a "rainforest." We took tons of pictures of our soggy selves. All my white kids' hair was stringy and all my black kids' hair was curly! Just the opposite of what they had intended! This memory is bittersweet, also. One of the students with me on this trip later passed away while attending college, ironically enough in Florida. RIP Josh.

49 days until we are Orlando bound with 30 teens on a school bus for 930 miles of smiles:sohappy:

personally i hate epcot in the rain, walking from area to area is a pain because there isnt enough places that are covered to run and hide under, wait run hide, wait run hide, like in magic kingdom.

not just in world showcase, but going from the living seas to inoventions my shoes n socks were finished, it was almost up to my freekin KNEES!

I'm not sure if this is with every park or just epcot (b/c epcot is the only park i remember in the rain), but everyone and there mother is crouding the exits, it took us almost 10 minutes JUST to say excuse me past the people watching the rain, WTH! if your going to hover over the exit, GO! just watching the rain ISNT going to make it stop, hate to tell ya

also some of the best rides either go into the rain or start out with lines in the rain, nemo's queue, ellens energy adventure queue, test tracks closed, mission spaces queue (or atleast sometimes, ive waited outside for 1/2 the time). I dont do too much else in epcot (besides the now closed body wars, turtle talk, and norway) b/c everything else is boring (no offense to any epcot fans).

off topic they really should add attractions at every country, talk about booming attendance! and not like sit watch and learn attractions, that gets old after time 1, norway, the new mexico (although its not that new ne more), just stuff like that, it doesnt necessairly have to be coasters (like some people have suggested), but theres enough sit and watch the screen attractions (if you can even call them that) in epcot (EEA, HISTA, sorin, American Adventure Pavilion, Canada, China, France, Norway [although i like they way they did it, ride then IF you want, video, its a way to satisfy every guest], Circle of Life, n ne thin else i left out).

I mean who wouldnt want to ride "THE GREAT AMERICAN COASTER"! That's one way to solve those huge lines at sorin....

I have to say AK is the best park to be in during the rain. Primarily, the rain adds to the experience for me. My family and I were down during hurricane Fay(i think it was fay, can't remember). Yes it was a lot of rainy days and dark skies, but when we were in AK, the consensus was that it made the park have a more genuine feel to it. Just my opinion. However, despite all the rain, we still went on Kali River Rapids. Irony would have it that because I was the only who didn't want a poncho, i would be the only one to get truely saturated! I didn't mind though, I still had lots of fun!
