Best of WDW!

in the 20 years DHS has been open I have never gotten to eat there, can't get my GF to go because she is not into the character interation with the wait staff, got any tips on how to change her mind?

Generally speaking, I've never seen the cast "pick on" anybody who wasn't playing along. They have a pretty good sense of who is game and who isn't. On our first trip, I was wearing a Superman T-shirt which was pretty much asking for trouble. But really, all I got was a gentle ribbing. The waitress pointed me out to other tables as Superman.

Usually, they just say clever things. On our last trip, when the waiter brough drink refills he commented that he would have "Mom" add plastic covers to our mattresses before bed tonight. He had a lot of one-liners all night long that had our table chuckling without picking on any one person.

My father-in-law didn't finish his veggies and got the old airplane trick. But my father-in-law thrives on attention. We still talk about it and laugh.

My wife has never been picked on. But when I go to the bathroom, she tends to empty her plate on to mine in hopes I won't notice.

Anyway, I'd just reassure her that unless she attempts to make a target of herself, she won't be picked on. It's all in good fun. And it really is a lot of fun. We've never had a bad experience with regards to the character interaction. And we're not the sort of people who usually enjoy that sort of thing.

On top of that, the food is good. Nothing exotic, to be sure. But very satisfying after a long day at the park. And the atmosphere is great if you enjoy the whole kitschy thing.

Once she goes, I'm sure it will become a favorite. It is the one place my family has eaten at on every single WDW trip. And we always have a great time.

Final recommendation: Try the pot roast. I'm not a pot roast fan, but this is my favorite meal on property.

Good morning everyone todays topic will be what and where is the best Adult beverage in WDW?

For me it is always a pint of Boddington at the Rose & Crown!

We're not really drinkers. I once had a banana daquiri at the poolside bar at Coranado Springs. It was good.

My wife had a margarita in Mexico at Epcot and we had to go home early that day. She didn't like it, but it was expensive so she didn't want it to go to waste. (This was our honeymoon and I guess she was still trying to make a good impression.) So she downed the thing and couldn't walk straight afterwards.

Tequila will do that to you!

It didn't help that we're both light-weights. Most of Future World will be new to her on our next trip because she slept off most of our Epcot day and we haven't been back to Epcot since. So, at least she has that to look forward to.

My favorite adult beverage in WDW is the Welsh Dragon at the Rose and Crown.

I really enjoyed this and I was surprised. I had a margarita (fiesta? the kind with 3 flavors?) there a few years earlier that was just terrible. But this was very, very good.

The Grey Goose and Grand Marnier slushes in France are pretty great, as well.

\My current favorite is the Poor Man's Black Velvet at the Rose and Crown. (Thanks to the friendly folks at WDWMagic, I now know the proper name for it!)

However, I've never tried a Margarita of any variety in World Showcase. I suspect that whenever I have one, it will skyrocket to the top of the list!

No drinking for us either. Our vote for the best chicken would be the [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Maple Barbecued Grilled Chicken Sandwich with black diamond cheddar and pancetta (yum!) at Le Cellier. Stand alone chicken would be the fried chicken at 50's Prime in HS. Ice cream would be the Edy's ice cream on Main Street USA.

Haven't been on in a few days and just found this thread. My picks for all 4 topics are:

burger - toss up between Liberty Tree Tavern and Sci-Fi, both were mmmmm!!!
chicken - fried chicken at 50's Primetime
ice cream - Dad's brownie sundae at 50's Primetime (banana split at The Plaza is great too!)
alcoholic beverage - YAK ATTACK at Yak & Yeti - LOVED it!!!
