I said Aladdin. Great movie!

But I also liked Fantasia 2000, and Emporer's New Groove. I hope Disney makes more movies like Groove. I hear that the guys behind the movie are already working on another movie for Disney! :)

You know, I was just wondering that myself... :lookaroun

Lilo & Stitch is up there for me, it was really good, but it was more of an "entertainment" only type of Animated Movie.

I mean Little Mermaid revived Disney, Beauty & the Beast opened up Broadway and a Nomination for Best Picture, the Lion King is still making Moolah out the Pride Lands, and Aladdin was one of the first to try major sequels to Animated Disney Movies. Maybe it's just the fresh in the mind thing that is driving it up soo high on the poll. If we could have picked five I would not be so surprised.

1. Beauty and the Beast...
2. Little Mermaid
3. Hunchback of ND
4. Aladdin
5. The Lion King

Disney was at the top of their game in the late 80s thru early 90s beginning with The Little Mermaid thru Hunchback, skip Pocahontas. This group of movies has to be some of the best work ever to come out of an animation studio. Also, the music from these movies was the BEST in recent history and many of the songs are already considered Disney classics. The team that collaborated on this group was first class all the way.

Pardon my ignorance, but what does "woot" mean?

Freaksters Abridged Dictionary defines "Woot" as:

Woot - (wuh-oo-t) 1. An expression of excitement See also "Woohoo"

Used in a sentence: WOOT!

yeah...W00t... it's an expression of excitement.

It started as a Britney thing. Back in her earliest concerts they would do a dance break and one of the dancers would rap "It's Britney Spears, baby. Now woncha w00t w00t?". *Shrugs* I guess it spread.

I know some would like to think that life started with Britney but I seem to recall resounding 'woots' on the Arsenio Hall show in the late 80s.:D

Hmm...Hunchback did a lot worse than I thought...I thought when it came out it was a hit (and they even had that Live show at MGM for a pretty decent amount of time)

Dinosaur did as expected...as did Atlantis (Psst...Disney...don't repeat this )

Nice to see that some people actually loved Treasure Planet! :sohappy: (It's a "sleeper" of a Disney flick...but it's great in my opinion) (Sleeper meaning that it kinda just "exists" but wasn't promoted that great)

The biggest problem with both those movies was that there was no clear cut villian.

In Dinosaur, the Carnitaurs are mearly predators trying to survive. The elder Alidar was just a heavy handed boss. Neither showed a true villianous streak.

In Atlantis, the villain wasn't revealed until the very end, by that time the movie had already played out it's story line and also there were just way too many eclectic characters.

Both movies fell short by leaving out a clearly defined villian and by also adding too many central chracters.
