we all know how the parks sell novelty items made for night time such as light up swords, theyve had those spinning word generator thingies..or even the simple glow in the dark necklaces you had to put in the freezer occasionally..what do you guys think are the best night time novelties theyve sold

im going with the glow in the dark necklaces,i got some my first trip and was in awe by them(keep in mind this was like 8 years old)...my mom bought me 1 and the CM kinda upsold my mom on the idea they make cool shoelaces as well(which they did)..so i ended up with 3 of them and was the talk of my class for a week or so following my trip

When I was a kid, I always wanted the glow neckalces to wear during the MSEP. Looking back, they've got to be the stupidest things ever, but i loved them.

First, I'm against any of the things Disney sells that light up but don't have an off button. I hate going on something like Haunted Mansion or Space Mountain that's supposed to be almost pitch black and yet next to you is Jethro, Bertha, and the twins with their glowing necklaces lighting up the place.
Next, I'm not too much a fan of those spinning toys, either, especially when parents don't stop their kids from playing with them when going on attractions. Again, they light up things that aren't supposed to be lit up, and the whirring noise they make is truly obnoxious.
So, my vote would probably have to be the light up roses, since kids don't usually want them, and most adults have the decency to turn them off during attractions. They're also more romantic than a spinning Buzz Lightyear...unless that kind of thing turns you on. :lookaroun

The flashing "ice cubes" that you get in certain drinks through out the Resort. They have a shut off switch and add something to things. I've got a red and blue one from my trip.

The drumsticks are kinda cool, eventhough they can be really annoying in the wrong hands.

I am mesmerized by the spinning lights in the the globes. I have Christmas ornaments that are similair.

I always get a light up necklace. It drives my wife crazy but hey i want to have fun. This year there will be 3 guys and 3 girls all together so the 3 guys will have necklaces and drive them all batty.

I don't recall seeing the rose but that sounds so cheesily romantic :ROFLOL:

My friend got this thing. We had entirely too much fun with it. Until it got tangled in my hair

I also got one of the glow ice cubes at 50s Prime Time. My nephew stole it when I got home.

My kids got these (string things) our last trip. They are very fun but I didn't get it tangled in my hair :lookaroun

Well see, he woke us up by spinning it in our faces. And it would then get tangled in my long mess of morning hair (that's not me in the picture, by the way =)

I have a spinny word thing from about 4 years ago and still use it. It's still on the same battery!
Anyways, I always bring it to our local fireworks shows for the 4th. (You can make it spell anything) I usually write Happy 4th. Anyways, every year, at least 1 kid has asked me where I got it. They I tell them WDW, and they always shrug and say "oh". Next year, I'll have to write down the company's website and tell them that if they wanted to, they could get them online.:)

They have to be our favorite too. I have a few of them in the kitchen and I bring them out for the kids sometimes when they have friends over. Their friends think that they are cool. :) It's fun for them.

I love my Tinkerbell wand. I got it a few years ago, so mine is a lavender color with a star on top. You hit the button and it will do one of three lighting effects. A slow fade on and off, a slow rotation through red, green and blue, or flashing color. You can hit the button to cycle to the next effect or hold the button to turn it off.

I LOVE IT! It's so fun. They modified them a few years back and they're blue now but I don't know if they changed the options or not.

I got these once at Sci Fi on a trip with my mom, and I remember they must have been dying or something because they kept turning on sporadically in the middle of the night, and I woke up to my mom swearing and smashing them against the table to get them to turn off :ROFLOL:. Quite amusing!

Starting in 2002, I couldn't get enough of the light up necklaces with the on/off switch...they make some now that are magnets. I had two Figment ones, a Spectro, HM, couple DL ones (Electrical Parade and Believe...).

They were $10 each and I ended up with 10 or 11...I actually just threw them all out literally like 2 weeks ago. I realized I had spent more than $100 on a bunch of glow necklaces over the years....just a tad depressing. I probably should have saved one though. Oh well :D
