Best garden view longhouse at Poly?

Need some help in requesting a longhouse at Poly. I know there are no guarantees, but I have always been lucky and gotten what I have asked for! Anyone have an opinion on the best longhouse to ask for? I see most people ask for Tokelau. Any advice would be great! If you even have room numbers, that would be great too!
Thanks in advance!

And thanks so much to Tikiman for your website, sorry to see it go, but THANKS for the hard work! It is appreciated!

Tokelau. I stayed there a couple of years ago, great location. BUT, any location at the POLY means you are at WDW, so it's all good!

I agree...Tokelau. I liked its central location, and some of the rooms on the left side (if you are facing the lagoon) have sideways views of the castle, even though they are garden view rooms (tikimans website has the room numbers listed). We had one on our last trip and it was cool.

Our room was on the third floor, 3 doors down from the lagoon end of the building. We liked that location because of the observation deck that is on that end of the building (it is at the top of the stairs). On the nights we were in our room, we could walk out there and have a perfect view of Wishes. Check out my December 2008 trip report (the link is in my signature) for pictures of our room, view from our room, and the view from the observation deck.

Tokelau also has larger rooms than some of the other longhouses, and if I am not mistaken it has had the most recent renovation.

We LOVED Fiji. We had a view of the marina and it was so very peaceful. We were just about a 2 minute walk to the lobby.

We will never forget our room number 2319. It was the code they yelled in Moster's when George got a sock on him. DS 5 actually was the one that pointed that out. When we were looking for our room I said 2-3-1-9, DH repeated 2319, DS laughed and yelled 2319! 2319! and then we all laughed and called families with teh very cute story.

Well, while our preference is Hawaii, that's more a pool view than a garden view in most cases from what I've seen so I'd also say Tahiti as the next best for the reasons as mousefan stated.

Is Tikimans site still up for now? I did not get to see it and we are going to Poly in December.

I like Raratonga. You exit one side and you are right at the Great Ceremonial House. You exit the other side and you are at the Bus Stops and halfway to the TTC already.

Yep -- from what I can recall, we usually have a first floor room when we stay in Rarotonga -- which isn't *exactly* the same as getting a balcony but you do get the little patio area at least, which is nice.

Thank you! I've never stayed at the Polynesian. My brother has a GV booked for May 24-31. I really, really, really don't want to chance not having a balcony or patio. From everything I've read on Tikiman's site and the UnOfficial Guide and from looking at the maps I'm thinking our best shot at a good location for GV that's guaranteed to have a patio or balcony and still be convenient to the walkway to/from the TTC we should ask for Tokelau then Tahiti as a 2nd choice. Also, I think Tokelau will put us close to the guest laundry which is always a big plus for me considering it's May and I'm sure I'll shower and dress in fresh clothes midday after our break from the parks. :animwink:
