By the way, why no concept art from Disney anymore? None for this, or the new pizza place or the new Mexico eatery or the new....:zipit:

Outside operator vendor projects often don't have any concept art. Mexico, Italy and the pet resort are all outside projects.

Finally! OMG, I have been waiting to take the dogs with us for far too long now. One of our dogs has a seizure disorder and while it is usually well controlled, we have this nagging guilt everytime we board all of them while we are at Disney each year. As long as we can board all 5 for $150 or less a day, like we do here, and the services are the same that are offered here, then finally we can really enjoy a "down day at Disney" by going to spend time with them.

I can't wait! :sohappy:

When my dog was a puppy we used a brand new BestFriends pet resort locally and she came back with a bad case of mange. Since I was also a new dog owner I was hesitant about using a kennel to begin with, but that experience totally turned me off. We had family members watch our dog for any vacation after that.

So, I hope this kennel in Disney is better than the experience I had.

Solid meh, here. I guess it'll serve a good purpose, though.
I would board or 2 dogs there before here locally... but then again, we would have to take them down there in a car or plane and that just isnt going to happen. They drive me nuts in the car.

I'm sure it's going to be very nice.
And VERY expensive.
Im sure.... we spend about $30 a day for our 2 dogs. They get 6 foot runs instead of crates. I would imagine around $100 a day per pet.

The pet resort sounds really nice, but I still strongly feel Disney World needs one Resort where you can keep your pet with you in you room for an additional fee.

Honestly I board my dog at best friends kennel in South Jersey and simply love it. It cost's $25 dollars a day and for a little extra your pet get a 45 minute play session where they get to play and romp around with others dogs. All the dogs in the play session is screened and if any aggression is shown the dog is removed ASAP and band from further play sessions. The play session is supervised by three handlers. Now for an extra $1.00 a day my dog is given a smoky treat. They feed her twice a day and I do supply the food. Now on the day they are picked up they will be bathed and groomed and smell nice for the ride back home. They do send you pictures of your dog throughout there stay and you are given a daily report card on the dog on how they ate, play groups and so on. Now the one by home I love and truly trust it and also had our training instructer highly reccomend it who is a close friend. The one being buit in Disney will will be close in price as I mentioned. Lastly they also have a very cool sections for cats in case you are in need of cat care as well. Hope this helps a little. I have seen the pictures of what is going to be built on the Disney propperty and feel it will be agreat addition. I will though wait a year for report cards out on the staff. I know the staff I have here near home is great and will not settle for anything less for my dog. I do suggest that you do the same. Any questions please ask. I am not affiliated with best friends or have family or close friends who work there. I am a very satisfide customer. My Dog will be going to Best friends once a week for doggie day care/full day play time with a very close screened pack of dogs. You see just because you bring your dog that it will be allowed to be part of the pack. Each dog is screened for aggression and play style. I have a Border Collie so she is fast, friendly and loves to herd and wrestle. They wont' place her in with dogs that her size, strength and speed can't handle. Lastly, my only thoughts concerns is not the kennel but the following. If something happens to m dog while on vacation my daughter and her husband will get her and take her to my vet and secondly I do not know if I want to travel all the way from South Jersey down to Fla with my dog and try to find a hotel or go to a nice place to eat on the drive down. I just can't leave my dog in the car with out me or the DWF.

I love my dog, but when I'm on vacation I want to enjoy it. Do your homework and find a good kennel and leave the pet sitting to someone else. I think there are others out there who live closer and are willing to travel with pets and pay for the extra fees. For me, my dog stays home. He loves his time at doggy daycare every week as it is!!
