Best Disney Restaurant atmosphere?

So we made all of our advanced seating reservations today except for 1 (Le Cellier was booked our entire trip ). We were bummed and we'll probably keep calling to see if anyone happens to cancel but we're not counting on it.

Anyhow, that got me thinking, what restaurant at Disney do you think has the best atmosphere? We ate at Cindy's castle the night after we got married so we enjoy it, we also like Coral Reef and Le Cellier. Anyone care to rank their favorite disney restaurant atmospheres? Perhaps it'll help us decide our last reservation.

Thanks!

What a fun thread! I'm going to break my list into two categories - atmosphere and food (some will overlap).

Atmospehere
1. Coral Reef
2. Sci Fi
3. Liberty Tree Tavern
4. Concourse
5. Maya Grill
6. Le Cellier
7. Garden Grill (HORRIBLE FOOD :hurl:)

Food
1. Liberty Tree Tavern
2. Concourse
3. L’ Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante
4. Le Cellier
5. Sci Fi (solely for the sundaes and milkshakes)
6. 1900 Park Fare
7. Maya Grill

My overall favorite Disney restaurant.....

Liberty Tree Tavern :slurp::sohappy::slurp::sohappy:

Atmosphere for what?

Do you mean best atmosphere for a 'romantic' meal? The one with the most Disney 'magic'? The most authentic to the theme?

California Grill is great for many reasons, and the view of the Magic Kingdom, the lagoon, view of the fireworks, etc., (and great food) makes it a top pick. However, it can be pretty noisy, tables are often a bit close together, etc.

Jiko has cool changing lighting, a good lay-out, fantastic setting in the Lodge, excellent food & wine, great after-dinner walk opportunity, etc..

Victoria & Albert's has the most elegance, all adults and the dress code, and the harp is very soothing and makes the experience very elegant.

Coral Reef is unique for the tank-side tables, but frankly, I feel its a bit odd to enjoy your seafood meal while sitting watching the fish go by

Let us know what you have in mind / what you are looking for, and the comments may be more helpful.

P.S. Le Cellier has great food (one of our favorites) but I've never thought of the atmosphere there as being a big draw - its pleasant, but nothing special for me.

Flying Fish Cafe is hands down the best food on property :slurp:. Sorry to all of the Cali Grill fans, but it was just OK..gets more raves than it deserves IMHO. Narcoossee's has a much less hectic atmosphere, better food, is quiet, cozy and has a beautiful view of the electrical water parade and Wishes, and it's right on the water. O'hana has great atmosphere and good food too. I can't wait to try Yak and Yeti (although "Yak":hurl: doesn't sound too appetizing). For something totally different, try Boma or Jiko:)

If we are talking about just atmosphere I would have to go with either Narcoossee's, Grand floridian cafe, or the place in Mexico whose name is escaping me. I like watching the boats go by. My favorite character meal is at the garden grove cafe at the Swan.:)

Awesome suggestions and I agree on a lot. Concourse was both great to look at and eat, but I heard it is going bye bye. 1900 Park was the same, San Angel was the same also.

Eating at Le Celier, Crystal Palace, Kona Cafe, Liberty Tree and Boma for first time in August and I cannot wait.:)~~ Along with Chef Mickey's, Mama Melrose and Cape May. (been to thyem!!!!)

Best restaurant atmosphere. Mmmm...

Well, at the MK, I'd have to say Cosmic Ray's (haha) Just love his act.)
Actually, Liberty Tree Tavern is probably better. I haven't eat at Cindy's.

At Epcot, I like Germany, Norway (pre-princess) and Mexico.

At DHS, Sci-Fi Drive-In (food seems to get bad reviews but I've always liked what I've gotten there)
Prime-Time is also very good.

No good candidates at DAK, although we like Flame Tree Barbecue a lot.

There are many wonderful restaurants at the resorts, Narcoosie's, Victoria and Albert's, California Grill, Artist Point, Whispering Canyon, etc.

But overall, in terms of best executed theme, I'd have to go with Sci-Fi.

DON'T GIVE UP ON LE CELLIER!!!

Ok, now that I'm done yelling that, I'll tell you my experience.

My wife and I were taking a 'family' trip to the World last January, staying off site at her mom's timeshare. We built in a night for just the two of us to go to dinner, and we wanted Le Cellier. I tried calling close to the 6 month mark, but a bit late, so there was no way I was getting in...and I was right - nothing available. I called every other week for FOUR MONTHS - same thing, nothing available (we had a specific date we needed). Then, three weeks before our trip, I made my usual call. It was fairly early on a Saturday morning, and the agent even started the usual "Le Cellier is a very popular resteraunt, and this is kind of late" spiel (very nice, mind you, kind of letting me down gently), when she then said to wait..yes, we have a table for two available at 6:00! I was thrilled!

BTW - it was really, really good...and they have Moosehead beer on tap! Yay...Moosehead beer and steak - next best thing to a Lone Star and a steak in the Fort Worth Stockyards!

No question the San Angel Inn at Mexico is the best atmosphere at all of WDW. Actually I thinks its one of the coolest restaurants anywhere. It's totally unique. However I am still ticked that they got rid of the queso fundido:mad:. The soupa azteca is the best soup I have ever had.
