Hi Everyone, In your opinion, what are the best counter table meals in each of the parks? We have already tried Cosmic Rays (in MK), Toy Story Pizza (in DHS) and Flame Tree BBQ (in AK)...Any other suggestions, would like to try something new and we are on the dining plan....
To make good use of the dining plan credits and get good food, my family likes the following...
MK -- Cosmic Rays -- get the chicken and ribs and feed four with two credit, easily.
MK -- If on the other side of the park, Pecos Bills is decent, but nothing too exciting.
Epcot -- SunshineSeasons at the Land is excellent. Good value, good value, lots of choice.
Epcot -- If on the other end of the park (i.e., WS) we enjoyed Tangerine Cafe in Morocco
DAK -- Tusker House before they turned it into a buffet was our favorite. Now it would be Flame Tree BBQ. Haven't tried Yak and Yeti's counter-service yet
DHS -- I do not get excited about any of the counter-service restaurants here. The ABC Commissary is big, quiet, and air-conditioned, and at least offers some different choices than you normally find.
You didn't ask, but I'll give a few other favorites.
At Downtown Disney, Wolfgang Puck express is quick service, and an amazing value. Food is great -- fresher, tastier, and far more interesting than most quick service stuff.
Also at Downtown Disney, Earl of Sandwich is good, and they let you get a side item instead of a dessert (don't know about you, but on the dining plan, I kind of get desserted out after a few days).
At resorts, I love the Pepper Market at Coronado Springs. The food is very good, and there's a lot of different things, plus it has partial waitress service for a quick service credit.
The next best food court, in my opinion, is at PO-R. It's large and there's lots of activities always going on for the kids, plus a decent variety of food.
