Hi Everyone, In your opinion, what are the best counter table meals in each of the parks? We have already tried Cosmic Rays (in MK), Toy Story Pizza (in DHS) and Flame Tree BBQ (in AK)...Any other suggestions, would like to try something new and we are on the dining plan....

Sunshine Seasons is great for sandwiches. Their macaroni and cheese is also really good, as well as their desserts. Honorable mentions in Epcot go to the CS in Japan and the CS in China.

At MK, I really like Casey's corn dog nuggets. Any of the other places on Main Street, like the Bakery, are really good as well.

The ABC Commissary at MGM has some nice variety.

Yak and Yeti at AK is really good as well. It's new, but super tasty and a great addition.

I echo the comments about Earl of Sandwich at DTD. A lot of great choices there.

Sunshine Seasons in EPCOT is hands down the best CS of all the parks. An HM goes to Germany's CS.

We really don't have any other favorites. Columbia Harbor House and the Village Haus used to be our favorites @ MK, but the menu reduction has made them not as appealing. We've eaten at the Tusker House @ AK when it was still CS food. Haven't eaten a counter at AK since the conversion. We've only eaten at the Commisary @ DHS once because the food was pretty lousy.

I am not a big meat eater so finding Vegetarian friendly options is a must.
Through my experiences I have found this list of places to be my favorites.

MK - Columbia Harbor House, and Cosmic Ray's

Epcot - Cantina de San Angel, Electric Umbrella, SunshineSeasons*, Tangierine Cafe*, and Yakitori House

DHS - Backlot Express*

DAK - Tusker House ( no longer CS )

Resorts - Everything Pop (POP), Pepper Market (Coronado), Roaring Fork (Wilderness Lodge)

The * means they have some of the best Vegetarian food and a large variety of options :slurp:
As for DTD I usually eat at a sit down Restaurant or the resort so I have no opinion on the counter service locales.

To make good use of the dining plan credits and get good food, my family likes the following...

MK -- Cosmic Rays -- get the chicken and ribs and feed four with two credit, easily.
MK -- If on the other side of the park, Pecos Bills is decent, but nothing too exciting.
Epcot -- SunshineSeasons at the Land is excellent. Good value, good value, lots of choice.
Epcot -- If on the other end of the park (i.e., WS) we enjoyed Tangerine Cafe in Morocco
DAK -- Tusker House before they turned it into a buffet was our favorite. Now it would be Flame Tree BBQ. Haven't tried Yak and Yeti's counter-service yet
DHS -- I do not get excited about any of the counter-service restaurants here. The ABC Commissary is big, quiet, and air-conditioned, and at least offers some different choices than you normally find.

You didn't ask, but I'll give a few other favorites.

At Downtown Disney, Wolfgang Puck express is quick service, and an amazing value. Food is great -- fresher, tastier, and far more interesting than most quick service stuff.

Also at Downtown Disney, Earl of Sandwich is good, and they let you get a side item instead of a dessert (don't know about you, but on the dining plan, I kind of get desserted out after a few days).

At resorts, I love the Pepper Market at Coronado Springs. The food is very good, and there's a lot of different things, plus it has partial waitress service for a quick service credit.

The next best food court, in my opinion, is at PO-R. It's large and there's lots of activities always going on for the kids, plus a decent variety of food.
