A lot probably depends on the characters he likes. Personally, I like the pooh characters so I prefer Crystal Palace - but he might want more classic Disney characters... Do you have an idea which he'd prefer?

Breakfasarous(sp) in AK is great for the original gang(Mickey and such) and ofcourse the Castle is awesome but he might not be into the princess thing, or maybe he is cause they are very attractive ladies!:goodnevil Chef Mickeys has all the regulars plus Chip and Dale but the food in my opinion was lacking. Crystal Palace has excellent food and The Hundred Acre Wood gang. Akershus in Norway has Mary Poppins and Mulan which is something different along with some other princesses. They really dont have a predominately male themed meal, which they could easily do with Jack Sparrow, all the different princes, Barbosa, Davey Crockett, Mogli, Baloo, Peter Pan....its a shame really. You pretty much cant go wrong with any of them. We did the Pirates Ice Cream social with fireworks cruise and that had Capt Hook and Smee and Peter Pan met us at the dock when we returned. It was a very nice cruise around the lake, we saw the water parade up close and MK fireworks plus the sound was on the boat from the park.

We had a great time at Donald's Breakfastosaurus. If you are going to Animal Kingdom, I would very much recommend it. Because the characters are Donald, Mickey, Pluto and Goofy, this might me the most male charaters for a character meal.

We really like Chef Mickeys and Dondals Breakfast at the AK. I think alot of the others are to girly or they are pooh and my boys are to old for pooh. I really disney would something with buzz, woody, some of the bad guys. Or a star wars one, I would even go to that.

I just recently tried the character breakfast at Ohana my DD really enjoyed it and the food was excellent. Chef Mickey's is always a good stand-by for seeing Fab 5 characters & the food is good(normally do breakfast). Crystal palace had good food also and was a good opportunity to see Winnie the Pooh characters.:)

My wife and I love Liberty Tree Tavern(Goofy,Minne, Pluto) and Garden Grill(Mickey,Pluto, Chip & Dale). The Crysal Palace is awesome too(Pooh,Tigger,Piglet, Eeyore) but we tend to be bigger fans of Mickey and his gang. We will be eating breakfast at Donald's Breakfastasaurus for the first time during our upcoming trip in April (16 days away from home!:sohappy: ), can anyone tell me if it is the only character dining with Donald?

When I was last at Chef Mickey's in Dec. Donald was there and Chip & Dale were not.

Chef Mickey's is really the place to go for characters(especially Mickey!).
We go to Chef Mickey's at least once every trip and the kids love it.(DS 5, DD 9, Nephew's 8, 7, & 1). The food is good for breakfast or dinner, everyone always finds something they like and at dinner the kids love the make-your-own ice cream sundae bar, heck the adults love it too! The atmosphere is great , like a party! We have gone to Chef Mickey's many times over the years and have never been disappointed, we are all looking forward to our reservations in April(dinner on April 22nd, breakfast on April 26th). If you mention to your server that it is your nephews birthday(also mention when you make ressies and when you check in at the podium) he will get a cupcake with a candle in it!

Chef Mickeys, hands down. However I will be trying the Ohana breakfast in august.

You will love O'Hana! Every few minutes they have a parade with the kids around the restaurant, Mickey leading the pack. The food is great with the island flavor.

My Favorites:

Chef Mickey's (Breakfast) <Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Chip & Dale>
O'Hana (Breakfast) <Mickey, Lilo, Stitch, Chip & Dale>
Crystal Palace (Breakfast) <Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore>
Donald's Breakfastosaurus (Breakfast) <Donald, Mickey, Goofy & Pluto>
Liberty Tree Tavern (Dinner) <Minnie, Chip, Dale ???>
Garden Grill (Breakfast) <Mickey, Chip, Dale, Pluto & Goofy>
Cinderella's Royal Table (If you like Princesses)

The Character breakfast @ Hollywood & Vine used to be really good as well.

I may be a little off on a couple of characters as they do change a couple from time to time. Anyway, I hope this helps.

I'm going to agree with some of the votes for Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. It is a little more mature than some character meals that would probably work for your 13 year old. I also love the theming and love to see the characters in their colonial gear! Also, it is great to catch Spectromagic right after you eat dinner!

We personally love Chef Mickeys for dinner. My boys are 9 and 12 and they insist on Chef Mickeys every trip. We didnt like Crystal Palace the Pooh characters are for kinda younger kids and it was not fun like Chef Mickeys. We have done Liberty tree and they liked that but still chef Mickeys is number one with the boys. It does depend on which characters you like we are old fashion traditional Mickey Goofy Donald and Minnie fans. All are really a great time, and the best way to get photos with the characters.

O'Hana's: you get the modern characters, Lilo and Stich, mixed in with the classics like Mickey.
I also love 1900 Park Fare. I feel the characters there spend a good amount of time with the guests and nothing beats Pooh bear. Well...at least for me
