Just got back from 2 weeks staying at the beach club villas, and to be honest apart from the great location I thought it was a bit overrated:eek: .
We are DVC members and next time we will probably stay at the Old key west as the lounge and kitchen area is alot bigger and it is alot less points. apart from that had a fantastic time even through the wet weather. I wonder if anyone else thinks the beach club is overrated or worth the extra?

I think many, many people feel the walk to Epcot and the studios, plus the themed pool, are well worth the reduction in villa size and extra points, compared to OKW.

I guess it depends upon the size of your group, how much time you spend in your villa, and how many meals you eat there.

I gotta agree with you here, I didn't think it was so great, besides the walk to Epcot. I liked the view of the boardwalk, but other than that I probably would not stay there again.

You cannot beat the location but the rooms were a little run down. The 1bd we had last summer had mold in the shower and a mystery stain on the couch.

I like the villas at Old Key West and Boardwalk better, but I loved the themed pool area at the Beach Club. To me, that pool area alone was worth staying there. I'll agree that the villas are a bit smaller.

The Beach Club Villas are a little out of the way from the main lobby. I have heard that they don't have the greates views. Many look out over the parking lot, but some do look out over Epcot.

I've also heard that every room at the Beach Club Villas hosts an invisible demon that will suck the breath out of a baby. So if you have infants, I'd suggest Saratoga Springs... :lookaroun

I kid, I kid because I love. What I HAVE heard, though, is that the Beach Club Villas are close enough to the outside road that you hear A LOT of the traffic. For the cost of DVC membership, you'd think you'd be more secluded from the outside world than what BCV provides.

You only hear road noise if you have the Epcot view (it must be a trade off) and if your doorwall is open. Pool view and garden view rooms are nice and quiet (except when they were power washing the pool area). You're right about the invisible demon though... don't stay at beach club.:lookaroun :animwink:

We love BCV. We have always found it very quiet unless we leave balcony doors open. The location overcomes that little bit of noise for me. The other amenities of yacht/beach clubs are outstanding.

There are rooms at SSR that are light years from the main lobby (The Paddocks).
