Be Our Guest Rumour.......

While I love the rumor...I know so many CMs have been telling people all kinds of things. I'm still thinking announcement some time in September, ADRs booking opening early October, soft opening late Oct/early Nov and open in time for Thanksgiving week.

I would LOVE :) to be wrong, but my gut says...
1. mid September announcement would be timed well for parents - i.e. kids back in school and finally settled + this is about the time the spring break WDW crowd would be looking to book...i.e. FLE info timed right then would lure in people who were on the fence and starting to think now that the new school year chaos has calmed down
2. Crowds around Halloween are larger, but not Thanksgiving or Christmas...so it would be a good soft opening testing time
3. I know "late 2012" and "in time for the holidays" has been up for debate, but I can't see them waiting until Christmas and missing out on the Thanksgiving crowds. The rooms jump in price around the 17th for the vals and mods and the 19th (I think) for the deluxe resorts to Thanksgiving elevated pricing- so I'd think that's the first target crowd they want to hit.
4. While the parade doesn't air until Christmas, the actual taping date is obviously quite a bit earlier and I'm sure they'd want it ready when they tape so they can advertise it.
5. While very different projects...I think Disney wants to make a big splash with the opening of FLE...kind of like the media saturation going on right now for DCA's Cars Land. Cars Land's actual opening date wasn't released for a while, but we knew it would kick off the summer season. Timing is everything- so I could totally see FLE being opened as they usher in the holiday season to make another big splash.

Like I said...I would LOVE to be wrong :D and have it all go down much sooner!

I think your hypotheses are very logical. And we need to keep in mind that they're announcing the "Opening" as late this year. Soft opening has to come before that.

Thanksgiving crowds might be too heavy to test the attraction, since they often have to take it down to adjust, work out bugs, etc. That's a lot of people to upset. I would almost see them soft opening Mermaid before Thanksgiving....if not before Halloween.

I would love for soft openings to be happening the last week of September as that is when I will be visiting but I'm not holding my breath on it. I'm sure they do want to get soft opening out of the way before the big Thanksgiving rush hits so my guess would be October or so. But, we can speculate all we want when we think it'll open but no one knows for sure!!

I can picture it opening in Early or Mid-July but it would surprise me if it opened in June. I could see a Fourth of July Opening...

There are only six days left in June, that's not happening and I personally don't think there is any chance we will see an opening in July either. The earliest I would think we would see soft openings would be sometime in September.

hey disney is made of miracles and the tears of children wanting them it could happen...lol /s
I think you are right august would be a huge maybe more then likely Sept if it was going to open early. Who knows. I sure hope it does happen i would love to see it when i am there, would i reschedule to see it absolutely not but i am very excited that they are making alot of good visible progress. maybe if @Scuttle takes to the sky in mid july we will have a better guess. i have to believe the insides of BATB and Ariel are done. They had the ballroom mostly complete months ago. i heard waterfalls were tested already on this board. Also I see they are doing a bit of rockwork the mesh and rebar is up between ariel and circus so i am starting to wonder if they are tying up all the lose ends at this point.

Well About the chefs who says BATB is going to have dinner service from the beggining i mean how long does it take to train a mcdonalds crew could just be a CS to start

point taken, but isn't that really the biggest reason people are so hyped for the BatB area to begin with? when Disney announced everything people were more interested in the restaurant and the fact that you'd be able to dine in the Ballroom. i'd imagine that would be one of the first places to be out first.

and Disney's talking a high class restaurant, especially at night, so the chefs should be much more well educated. but that's just my view, for all i know or care they can just build it up on experience with maybe a month or so of solid training

i too think there should be a soft opening sometime in late September, to work on those tiny flaws in time for Thanksgiving weekend, when i hope to have free time so i CAN visit. i mean, at least late September/early October. i need YouTube videos of this stuff to psyche me up!

Exactly!! I'd hate to see it open around Thanksgiving, when it's insanely busy and have all kinds of things go wrong. I'd love to see some menus soon too!! I guess that would be good to know, what kind of food they have to see if I even WANT to eat there!! lol

Why do I ever expect Disney announcements to contain specific details? At least they narrowed down the dates a little and provided hints to what would be on the menu. That's something I guess.

I'm hoping that the 500-guest capacity will help to offset the fact that it will be so popular, but I think you're right -- it will be the hottest ticket in town when it opens.

It's worth noting that there is a blurb in the 2012 Unofficial Guide that suggests that when BOG opens, CRT might close for refurbishment. I assume that will be after "the holidays". But it could contribute to this being a tough get even through the slow season.
