Yeah, Carsland promotion didn't really kick into higher gear nationally until about a week before it opened, although I have heard if was getting local promotion earlier then that.
Fingers crossed for Be Our Guest Promos in July :):):):):)

That is a yes and no scenario....I think that sept is a good soft launch and you never really want to promote that....besides I don't tnink they are as slow a months as everyone thinks. Also you don't market what you don't have. My guess they won't market that its actually open till thanksgiving even if it has been open for a bit

I hope it opens in September for you. Keepin' my fingers crossed for ya...

As far September and October - the Halloween festivities and Food and Wine bring in a lot of locals that make the resort seem fuller than it is. Hotel occupancy is very light during that season though...

I noticed today on the WDW website - they switched the language of when BatB and TLM would open from "Holidays 2012" back to "Late 2012". Which is worse? haha

"Late 2012" is worse because "holidays 2012 " means thanksgiving/christmas. Thanksgiving which is nov., but late 2012 i would say that means more like december not november. Just my thoughts on that language.

honestly this does not mean alot, i have been around for a few restaurant openings and i am sure disney is no different....i mean how long do they really need. My guess is the menu and the chef is hired or at least considered. The cooks take 2 to 3 weeks to train, and for all we know will be plucked from various restaurants and be cooking things they already know, lets face it this is going to be a pretty standard fare restaurant, so assembling a team shouldnt take long. Servers with any expierence may take 1.5 to 2 weeks to train. Any other position shouldnt take much more to do. They are definetly not going to train forever because it costs money to pay them not to serve anyone, i also believe like many others they already have people picked for the launch of the new place. just my 2 cents

Disney is unionized - meaning that all union positions (servers, seaters, stewards, cooks, etc) must be filled in a very systematic way. First is info sessions, then the interview stage, then selection, then training. Opening Teams train anywhere from a couple weeks to more than a month. Once the green light is given, the process can happen very quickly - but everyone at Disney will know it's happening so that there is equal opportunity to apply.

Yes, the chef and managers can be pulled from other locations as they are salaried - but all those other roles MUST go through the steps described above.

As of this moment, info sessions have not been announced.

didnt think of the union aspect but it really shouldnt take to long plus they might only open for one meal or another for the first little bit.... till they can get themselves together with the change over. still thinking a late july is not completely out of the realm of possibility. They have the roofs going on and now the castle walls seem to have a fair amount of progress... i say if the paving is done they are def looking to open. I am guessing the official fully working open will prolly be around xmas time.

I agree, Dumbo has been "half" open for a few months now, and I don't see why they couldn't open the BatB area, in some capacity, a little at a time, it is mostly restaurants and shops which don't have the same constant maintenance and safety issues as a ride

I'm all for them getting the entire BatB area open as quickly as possible, but remember beauty is in the details. I'd rather them take until December, taking time to get everything perfect. Over all Storybook Circus looks beautiful, and finely tuned. And from pictures it seems like the entire FLE will be absolutely gorgeous. I just think we all need to let them take their time to get it there.

But, I'm all for opening it in stages. But they wouldn't open BoG until the castle walls are complete, all the pavement is placed, and I would imagine them opening Maurice's first as well, simply because it's closer to the castle walls.

I am in complete agreement with you.... i def dont want any of that "oh we are opening now and will fix it later" cause it will NEVER happen. I am hoping alot of the details are already in place. It also seems as though they have turned alot of there attention on the walls every update i have seen in the past 2 weeks has shown a pretty nice amount of progress. like i said paving is always a good time plus @Themeparksource on twitter also made the same rumor or read it here but maybe they have another source that confirmed the same thing.

They seem to think everything will open except for SDMT by the end of the summer.....

I will say it makes sense then you dont do the "grand opening" for months I would say we could be seeing soft launch alot sooner then the holidays. it originally was supposed to be earlier "fall of 2012" i believe. which means you would start soft launching in august possibly. it does seem plausible BATB could open in a month with possibly ariel depending on how the mine coaster is going

That seems possible, there were pics and video inside the "Be Our Guest Restaurant" a while back and it looked pretty close to being finished then, and the exteriors seem pretty much finished as far as the models and concept art go. Plus restaurants and shops are money makers, so I'm guessing if they can get them open by the end of July they will most certainly do that

I doubt that nearly everything will be open by that time. I'm going to expect a super late September or early October opening for most of it.

ok so, i'm looking at pictures and promotional videos for this restaurant and the village area, and i'm literally crying. this is the first addition/change Disney has done that has made me this emotional, and just taking all this gossip and speculation in is just getting to me. BatB and even TLM have played such huge roles in my both my childhood and my character.

okay, okay enough *inhales* so, on topic! well i do honestly think they can finish this early enough. there is the argument that the chefs need a lot more training, so really to be on the safe side i'd say they can open this mid-late September/early-mid October. i never really did expect a summer opening. there's just a lot of thought to be put into something like this. but i'm confident that "Late 2012" just means either fall or winter. possibly just something to say so that in case they're delayed for some reason, they can recover with the public.

Well About the chefs who says BATB is going to have dinner service from the beggining i mean how long does it take to train a mcdonalds crew could just be a CS to start

While I love the rumor...I know so many CMs have been telling people all kinds of things. I'm still thinking announcement some time in September, ADRs booking opening early October, soft opening late Oct/early Nov and open in time for Thanksgiving week.

I would LOVE :) to be wrong, but my gut says...
1. mid September announcement would be timed well for parents - i.e. kids back in school and finally settled + this is about the time the spring break WDW crowd would be looking to book...i.e. FLE info timed right then would lure in people who were on the fence and starting to think now that the new school year chaos has calmed down
2. Crowds around Halloween are larger, but not Thanksgiving or Christmas...so it would be a good soft opening testing time
3. I know "late 2012" and "in time for the holidays" has been up for debate, but I can't see them waiting until Christmas and missing out on the Thanksgiving crowds. The rooms jump in price around the 17th for the vals and mods and the 19th (I think) for the deluxe resorts to Thanksgiving elevated pricing- so I'd think that's the first target crowd they want to hit.
4. While the parade doesn't air until Christmas, the actual taping date is obviously quite a bit earlier and I'm sure they'd want it ready when they tape so they can advertise it.
5. While very different projects...I think Disney wants to make a big splash with the opening of FLE...kind of like the media saturation going on right now for DCA's Cars Land. Cars Land's actual opening date wasn't released for a while, but we knew it would kick off the summer season. Timing is everything- so I could totally see FLE being opened as they usher in the holiday season to make another big splash.

Like I said...I would LOVE to be wrong :D and have it all go down much sooner!
