They said Holiday season, The "Holiday" season for WDW starts in early November. I doubt that soft openings will be beginning of December, my guess would be late, late October Early November.

I hope you are right! We are going for Thanksgiving and I would love to go there sometime that week. My ADR's are coming up in just a few days, but you can bet money that I will be adding this one if it opens up!

I just told my husband.... he said he didn't want to eat there. Yeah... like I'm going to pass that up!!!! Hey, we can go for lunch at least.

He's passing judgment on a restaurant that hasn't even posted a MENU yet? Let alone been completely constructed?

Book it anyway once it becomes available. Who cares whether he wants to eat there or not.

I agree that is what holiday season should mean, but of course Disney used the vague "holiday season" terminology to maintain leeway. I suspect they'll hammer down a more solid date for us later this Summer.

There's two ways I'm looking at this: Disney could consider the holidays to be starting with Thanksgiving. It could be as early as the first Christmas parties. Also, keep in mind that all the signage has been saying 'Fall 2012'. That's a very vague range of dates that could be as early as September 22nd (first day of fall) and as late as December 21st (first day of winter).

I actually never thought that the Holiday Season could be as early as Halloween... but, you are right. When I read it I thought it meant late... and almost for the end of the year. BUT, you are all probably right... lets hope for October!!!! :)

I just booked my next trip on the phone and the person I spoke to said that the restaurant "should be open" by our trip (Dec 25-28) ... take that for what you will. :)

I know we are probably going to miss out on the opening of this when we are there for our trip in September, but I am watching closely for our trip in April to make sure we get in then. Has there been any more rumors about the Beverage that was suppose to be Disney's Answer to ButterBeer?

This is awesome news. I wonder if they know when exactly it will open. I am going to eat there, even if it is by myself.

watch the photos for clues

I think it will be ready by December. It is really moving along. They are shooting for Thanksgiving from what I'm hearing. As soon as you see them start closing off the walls for the Dwarfs rollercoaster and encasing that in, that will be the clue that they are getting ready to open up all the rest of that area (Ariel/Beast). So keep an eye on the pictures. The snow is going up on the beast castle and sand is going up on Eric's castle.:xmas:

I'm so happy about the snowy theme of the Beast's castle. That brings to mind the snowy scenes in the movie and is a nice touch.

I think you're right. I am not optimistic for an October soft opening. I think we'll be lucky if we see a soft opening in early November.

I just tried to book online for the beginning of November and it is not an option. I think it may be closer to Thanksgiving . . . I am going to see if our DVC rep has any information though we were hoping to see this as well but the dining online doesn't offer any of the new restaurants when you search as of today.

It's unlikely they will start taking reservation until much closer to the opening. Last thing they want it to take a bunch of reservation, and then have the resturant delayed for some reason.

I remember asking on here awhile back what the usual practice was with WDW restaurant openings, and being told that in past experience (most recently with La Hacienda in Epcot, I believe), WDW soft-opens the restaurant first and takes only walk-ups for the first few weeks, and then begins taking ADRs after some of the initial kinks are worked out.

Of course, there's no guarantee that they won't do something different here, but it is possible that ADRs won't be available until well after the restaurant soft-opens. That won't stop me from checking online every day too, though! :)

Ok... lets be optimistic, say they have soft openings after Halloween, then they start taking reservations. I'll be able to have one for December :)
