Be aware of your surroundings when at the parks.

I don't ever bring my wallet into the parks.. thank God for the key to the world!!!

Same here. I bring my Key to the World and my Driver's License and keep them in a front buttoned pocket of my cargo shorts. I'll also bring some cash that I'll keep in a top front pocket.

The rest of the "wallet" I keep in the room safe.

Has anyone ever seen the film "Papillon"? Does anyone remember what Dustin Hoffman's character did to stash the counterfeit money he had printed. Oh yeah.

I've even thought a couple of times about "forgetting" my fake wallet on a bench or something on our last day. Then sit back and watch the first person that takes it just to see their face when they pull out the little Monopoly money. I know it's juvenile to do this but it would make me smile. :D

Just proves that terrible human beings lurk everywhere. That's a huge bummer...

I always wear my wallet in my front pocket. It may be a bit more noticeable than if I had it in my back pocket but you can sure as heck bet I'll feel if someone tries to reach in my front pocket!

Put your wallet in your front pocket. It won't get stolen. I have never understood this at all. Men think it's weird to put their wallet in their front pocket, when it fits just fine and is actually more comfortable. I don't get the idea of how feeling something pressing up against your butt every time you sit down is somehow more masculine. Well, if you're straight anyways. lol

Because that is where I have room.

Cell phone, left front
Car/House keys - right front
Wallet - back right

If I am out in WDW or some other large venue, I will move it to my front pocket. (or just take what I need)

But in the case of "normal" life I put it in my back pocket.

A simple lanyard can be used to "tether" your wallet from your pocket to a belt or pants beltloop, etc. Gone are the days of biker chains. Present are the days of a Tinkerbell lanyard keeping my Pocahontas wallet within 14 inches of my person.

If people are willing to put leashes on their own children...

They do a great job of that, the bag check is a great example of this. If someone wants to do something bad, the check wont stop them. Just put whatever bad thing you have in your pocket or under your clothes and walk right in.

So true. A few years ago our family was on a bus on the way to Epcot and my husband realized he still had his very tiny pocket knife in his pocket. He started to panic about it (thinking they wouldn't let him through security) and decided he'd just throw it away before we got to the security check. I told him he didn't need to worry about it as long as it was in his pocket and not in my bag. We get to the security check and he walks through the "no bags" line with a knife in his pocket while I get stopped and interrogated by security at the bag check because I had a CLOTHES PIN in my bag...a clothes pin!!! There was a part of me that wanted to scream, "Hey! My husband is standing over there with a KNIFE IN HIS POCKET and you're questioning me because of a clothes pin???????" :veryconfu

And on the topic of thieves at Disney... My 17yo nephew has muscular dystrophy and uses a power chair. He can walk short distances but uses the chair at places like Disney to conserve some strength and endurance. He parked his chair outside of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and went to get in the FP line. He had a Sorcerer Mickey hat that he had collected various character signatures on over 2 or 3 trips. He had dozens of autographs on it. He stuffed it behind the power box and under the seat -- it wasn't visible at all. He was away from the chair for less than 15 minutes and when he came back, the hat was gone. Someone *had* to have been watching him put it there and pulled it out while the chair was unattended. He was devastated. His parents immediately grabbed a CM who just happened to be a manager. They replaced the hat with an "upgraded model" and were able to get them a few character signatures that night (it was about 8:00 when this happened -- and the last night of their trip). The CM took all of their contact info in case someone "found" the hat and turned it in. No one did. But when they woke up the next morning they had a message that there was a package at the front desk for them. Mickey had left my nephew a pair of his big white (stuffed) gloves with dozens of character autographs on them along with a note saying he was sorry somebody had taken his hat. Take that you big bad thief!!! :p

So yes, sadly, Disney is no different than the real world when it comes to people stealing things.

A side note but I'd like to see those parents strangled with the leash. Is it really that hard to keep up with your children? Put your cellphone/Ipad away and watch your kids.....geez.

I'm with Phonedave, I keep my phone in my front right, keys in left but I put my wallet at the bottom of the backpack I lug around.

How many keys does a person need to bring into a WDW park?

Assuming that the person drove to the park themselves (didn't take a taxi), then the only key they should need is the key to their car.

In the alternative, a car key can be easily hidden on the exterior of the car so that the guest need not bring in any keys at all.

Always do the cargo shorts with a money clip of whatever I need for the parks. Heck, it's just as hard for me to reach into those deep pockets and find what I'm looking for.

However, years ago we were in AK and left our stroller parked for a ride (don't remember which one) and when we returned, someone had taken (nay stolen) the batteries from our Disney spray fans. Nice! I guess it was just that hot!
