Hi Fellow Disney-ites.
Need some help here.

When booking our Dec Disney Vacation today, came upon a problem-

Poly was not available:shrug: with the special room only discount Pin that I had rec'd 40% off room :D

We were planning on staying at the BC on the last day of our vacations since we have never stayed at an Epcot resort.

Question:
For those who have stayed at BC how do you find the transportation and schedule of the park visits with no monorail for MK?
I am one of those visitors who have the schedule of parks, dining, parades etc time scheduled out before we go, and am not sure how the bus will be to MK-- Help...
Shall I book at BC or do you have another suggestion?
Grand Floridian seems stuffy---but what do you think----We need some magic in our lives this Dec---:sohappy:

I stay at the BC every year. I am the same type of planner you are. :)

I am freaked out by the idea of not being able to walk into EPCOT whenever I want to.

I love BC. In the morning, I take the bus to MK. Sometimes I take the bus back at night. Sometimes I take the monorail and walk through mid-day. I love walking through that park so much.

It takes about 20 minutes from bus pick up to walking up to MK. I put that in my spreadsheets. It takes me 7 minutes to walk into EPCOT and 12 minutes to DHS by boat.
Have fun, super planner!

We usually stay at BC, WL, or GF. And I think BC is probably our favorite for the ability to walk into EPCOT at will. Nothing is better than going for an evening swim and then litterally 5 minutes later throwing on a t shirt and watching illuminations from France/England. Transportation to MK is fine, probably not as nice as taking a monorail, but it's still nice. We were going to stay at the Poly for the first time in 10 years this coming October but switched to the BC because we like it so much.

Grand Floridian is not stuffy but I also don't think it's worth the price. The service has declined over the years and like I said before, we prefer the BC.

BCV Owner here. Walking into Epcot is GREAT. Bus to MK wasn't bad at all.

Staying at BLT in 16 days so we will see if walking to MK is better than walking to Epcot. I doubt it, I would rather bus to MK and walk to Epcot myself. But that is OK because we are staying at the BCV in October so we will get to try both this year.

we've stayed at BC twice usually at BW but love the walk to Epcot and boat to Studios, and the bus ride is about 20 minutes, its out favorite area to stay in - and we were at Bay Lake in janaury and our kids said it was nice but BW and the Epcot resort area was better. Book BC!

Beach Club and Polynesian are neck and neck for me as favorite resorts (I can never make a decision). I think you will be very happy with BC and you should definitely book it.

We love the Epcot area. Something else to consider, in December the MK closes early many, many nights for MVMCP. Illuminations doesn't start until 9:30. We get a lot out of Epcot by spending almost every night there for dinner and ending with Illuminations (and the POE tag). You can also see the fireworks from the bridge by the Boardwalk ( we stay at the YC and can watch from our room). Plus you can walk to DHS for the Osbourne Lights. I say book the BC, the Gingerbread Carousel is really cool too:xmas:.

Thank You All!

I feel soooo much better now, thank you sooooo much.
I will book the BC and maybe book just one or two nights prior to our extended stay at BC to get our fill out of the monorail and Ohana!
Thank you again, this will truly make our magical experience a new exciting one this year!

GF is not stuffy. It is fabulous! It is lovely! My DH and I (both in our 30's and consider ourselves "non-stuffy" people) love it there! We have also stayed at the YC, not BC. We usually spend most nights at Epcot, so that worked out well for us. When we stayed at YC, we took 2 different paths to MK - one, we went through IG and hopped on monorail. It was a long, but stress free way to get from point a to point b. The other - the bus. Faster, and more stressful. We were there the week of Thanksgiving - so at first, not many people there but it really got busy towards the end of the week. We had to wait 20 mins for a bus to MK. Just frustrating.
