BBB - take your own comb?

Last year I took 3 of my girls to the BBB. The reservationist told me that each girl should bring her own comb. I bought each of them a nice, new one to take (very sturdy). But fairy godmothers-in-training didn't use them. They used their own little cheap flimsy comb (which is fine) and sent it home with them.

I figured for the price, they decided they could afford to use a new comb for each girl, and save the guests the trouble. But I called today to make reservations for my girls again this Fall, and I was told again that they each needed to bring their own comb.

What's the deal? Do you take one?

I totally understand the request to bring your own comb. We have a place in a mall near us that does girls' birthday parties and do makeup and hair combos, and I have heard SEVERAL reports of girls getting LICE from combs used by others. Buying a cheap, .99 cent comb to bring with us is well worth it, if the other option would be getting lice out of my dasughter's hair!

As requested, you should always bring a personal comb with you to the experience. When available, a new comb may be supplied and used by the Fairy Godmothers-in Training and then given to the child, but this is not always available or guaranteed.

This has nothing to do with this post, but I have to say that JP is the most helpful person on this board. Always there with quick, accurate, and informative info. Thanks again.

Well, not only teh lice, but I would guess that Disney is also trying to avoid any possible lawsuits.

While you may or may not need training and a license to sanitize a comb, you also have to realize that allergies are a very serious thing in this day and age. Why? I don't know. But even if their fair-godmothers-in-training (FGITs ?) could sanitize a comb, keeping things like sanitizer solution and makeup remover out of the shop will also prevent any kids from having a reaction to it (actual or imagined)
