BBB MK or Downtown Disney

Hello all,
I am planning on our mid August trip to Disneyworld with my DD and I. I want to get her made up the BBB and make reservations, but I hear that you can do it in both the MK and DD in the marketplace. I also heard that if you do it in the marketplace they have some kind of parade the kids march in later. If that's the case I'd really like to do that rather than drag her around MK dressed up all day. Does anyone have any information on this?
Kind regards,
Rick

I just booked this for my nieces and we booked for the MK location, but that is only because we will be there that day. Here is the Link to the BBB on Disney's site http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/tours-and-experiences/bibbidi-bobbidi-boutique/. It does not mention anything about a parade, and I did not get any information on a parade from the Cast Member when i called and booked my packages. Hopefully someone else has some additional information on this.

I'd rec that if you're resigned to do a day of beauty with a child, do it at DtD anyway, parade or no. I'm sure the idea of a child getting beautfied at the Castle will be alluring. But I also think that if you do it too early in the day, the affect is ruined by day's end, and if you do it later in the day, they're a hot mess and ready to take a nap before the makeover starts, AND either way it takes away from touring the parks. I'd pick a day where I didn't intend to visit the parks (or maybe a day where I plan to go to Epcot later, for dinner), give my daughter the makeover at DtD, have a nice lunch, and see how well I can keep the makeover preserved during a nap, followed by dinner plans.

My daughter has done this in both places. I would highly recommend the one in MK. The process is managed well;much more efficient than compared to DTD. Also, she definitely enjoyed the attention she received in the park. The M&G with the Princesses was priceless!

I forgot to add that the parade is offered @ both locations. They will have a few set times throughout the day. Basically, a CM from the BBB will lead them on a short walk.

My niece has done it twice at MK, Both times the fairy god mother swept through and she got to get her photo taken with her while she was n the process of being made up. Im not sure whether this is a regular occurrence or she has just been really lucky both times. She will be 5 on our next visit in November and is booked back into BBB in the castle, every time she sees a photo if the castle she states thats were princesses are made.

I agree...my niece had it done at MK and the recation for all of the characters we saw that day, not just the princesses, was the best interactions we had the entire trip. Just FYI - you don't have to worry about the hairstyle coming out by mid-day or anything. My niece got the traditional princess bun and it was still in her hair the next day after we had taken out most of the bobby pins and she slept on it.

She did get tired of wearing her Cinderella gown after a while (maybe 4 hours or so) but we had a Cinderella t-shirt and a matching skirt to put on so she was able to remain cool and still have that "princess" look about her.

We liked the DTD one since we were able to take our girls to the little photo studio for a photo session when they were done and the pictures were amazing!!

We saw the parade at DTD last trip. Basically a bunch of the girls all hold onto a ribbon, and walk from BBB over to where they do the photos. (At least it seems like that is where they were headed) A few of the fairy godmothers in training were escorting them, and there was a Photopass photographer taking pictures the whole way over.

Personally, it depends on what you were doing. If you just wanted them to get all fancied up, then I would do DTD. Doesn't tie up time at the parks, and easier to build a schedule around. But if you were going to get all prettied up for a meal with Cinderella, then obviously at the MK.

One Little Spark...
If you are going to become a Princess...where else to do it but in a Castle?

Though, as a previous poster mentioned, I'd try and book it late, and on the last day.

Here's how I did it last year (and it was magical)...

Book BBB for 5 - 7p. Book dinner at Royal Table (in the Castle) between 7 - 8p. Finish with fireworks.

The dress is expensive, so you really don't want to do many (or any) rides after the makeover. But, it was a great way to finish the trip. The kid loved it (and used the outfit for halloween)

My daughter did the BBB experience at Cinderella Castle a few years ago.
Being inside the castle made her feel more like a princess.
It was very enjoyable...she still talks about it!

There is nothing like your daughter walking throughout Magic Kingdom all dressed up. My daughter loves the attention she gets from characters,cm's, and other guest. After being dressed up then she gets to take photos with all the princesses.DTD would not even be an option for me, Magic Kingdom is where a princess belongs.

I have taken my daughter to the barber shop the last two years to have her hair done..they have spray painted and put pixie dust in it..last year we ran across the BBB in DtD and she wanted to do it sooooo bad, but they only take reservations...so I spent 30 minutes and over $100 in the store to "make" her a princess..lol..added hair and face make up and a new outfit...she loved every minute of it !! But I wasn't impressed with the boutique there like I was when we peeked into the one at MK..it's in a store and it's very crowded..the parade is a little march around the store that I could tell..this year we have booked her BBB at the castle right before dinner, but I am just having hair and make up done...I will be making her a Cinderella t-shirt and tutu (since she loves to wear them) that way she can still be comfortable the rest of the night and yet be princessly

We have only done the castle location and we're planning on doing it again in November. There is just something magical about being in the castle. Plus, it's really fun for the kids to be able to ride rides and tour the park after they've been fully princessified. I would bring a change of clothes though...some costumes are just more scratchy than others...although my girls have been pretty good in wearing theirs for quite some time. This time, I think I'm going to do pettiskirts and other fru-fru girly princessy things as their back up gear so they stay in that makeover spirit...maybe even the light up ones I saw the other day. In any event- I'd do the castle if it works into your plans and there are openings.

I'd also call ASAP if you're planning on August. The castle can book up pretty quickly.

Personally I feel it is a huge waste of money and precious park time!! The princesses are fun to see and meet but too overrated!!! There are a lot of other ways to give Disney your money and have more to show for it--just saying

AAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGHHHHHHHH. Princesses be damned, get yourself to the Pirates League instead.

Imagine my surprise when random folk where asking me to let their kids be photographed with my son, who had just had his Skeleton Pirate get-up applied.

We took our first trip to the World in 2009 and took my granddaughter...the entire trip was everything princess. We did BBB in the castle. My granddaughter was thrilled. We had just had breakfast with Cinderella and went to BBB from there. She had a blast. She was fawned over most of the day in her Cinderella gown. It was a day I will never forget. I think there is something to be said about being in the castle and getting all of the extra attention throughout the day. We took her straight to the photo studion in MK after to have her pictures taken.

I have to admit, it was one of the hottest June's on record the year we went. She made it about five hours in the dress until she decided it was time for shorts. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
