Backstage area video

I thought this was an interesting video to watch. I must admit, it was weird seeing the backstage area, and it kind of had a local "fair" feeling to it, which I didn't care for. However, it was kind of cool seeing a bit of backstage. The only other backstage area I've seen before is when we (and another group of 4) asked to hold back from this group of cheerleaders on the HM before the stretching room. Anyhow, check it out and sorry if it's been posted before.

What was the occasion? Looks like a Christmas parade...but why would they be prepping behind Tomorrowland?

That was the day President Obama visited the park so Main St was blocked off per the Secret Service so they rerouted the guest traffic flow to enter through Tomorrowland by walking through this backstage area

That is what the backstage area looked like when Obama came to visit this past January 2012 and they had closed Main Street off completely.

Wow. I wonder what that day cost Disney. Lost revenue from the Main St. shops, plus the cost of assembling the temporary entrance.

I imagine it is significantly less than buying TV spots on every network that either mentioned Walt Disney World/Magic Kingdom that day, or showed clips of Obama speaking with the castle in the background. Not to mention any print media or online media that did the same.

And everything they used is already on property, just had to pay for someone to line it all up and then staff it.
