But I really love to think about it too... I can appreciate it for what it is... but I also love to look deeper and overanalyze things (it's a hobby... never criticizing).

I think these movies are some of the best movies ever made honestly... I never tire of watching them.

SAME HERE!!! :sohappy:

I guess you have to think of what Doc said: "The future is not writte; it is what you make of it". Therefore, the alter-1985 would be for real if they hadn't interfered. I also believe that, if they took too long to solve the whole deal, they'd have disappeared just like Old Biff disappeared in 2015, and eventually the whole galaxy (or universe, Doc didn't know for sure) would disappear because of the major paradox of not having the time machine to get the Almanac in the first place. Did you follow me here?

Now, as for Einnie and Jennifer... Doc says they'd be fine IF they changed it all back. In alter-1985, there's no Doc, so obviously there's no Einnie. And even though Marty was in Switzerland (I think, it's been a while since I watched it...), you can assume Jennifer was around, maybe as a drunken biker's girl, we just didn't get to see her... Makes sense? :hammer: I don't like the "train explanation" for future Marty not talking about Doc, since THEORETICALLY Doc hadn't been to the Old West yet... Maybe they just got apart after the accident, since Marty became so bitter.

But he has, even Doc didn't know it yet, but he has... cause it's the past. :hammer: *Coo Coo... Coo Coo*

There should still be two Einnie's though, even if Doc isn't there... I'm sure the dog was born.

Great theory about given time how they would all disappear, I can handle and accept that answer.

I love the movies as much as everyone else does, but D***!

Even I figured out awhile ago not to overanalize! I just love them for what they are and remember that "it's all in the script"!

Back to the Confusion Part III

Please let me get this out of my system cymbaldiva .

Honestly Part 3 is my favorite, and the least confusing. Still, there are a few places. I will not mention Freaks points again, although how did they manage to pull that Train out of the ravine?

1) The Tombstone in 1955 reads "Erected by his beloved Clara" or something to that effect. How did Clara meet Emmett in the old west if she fell into the ravine? (She was only saved when Marty and Doc went to check out the site)

2) (Maybe I have my dates really wrong here) How in the world did Doc have enough time to set up so many gadgets and establish himself in the town (everyone knows him) by the time Marty arrives? The Bartender even says... "Remember last 4th of July Emmett?" Maybe I just don't know how long Doc was in the west before Marty arrived.

3) Here's another Mind Blower! :D If Marty no longer gives in when called a chicken, and his future is now unwritten, then it is very possible that his future is nothing like the one Doc and Marty went to correct for his son, therefore Doc and Marty may have been erased in the future because they had no reason to go there... and all the events after (the almanac and Old West) never would have occured. :hammer: :veryconfu  :brick: Big Paradox there.... time travel is too complicated to be a reality.

OK I'm finished Diva.

GOOD POINTS!!! I honestly can't even come up with ANY explanation on the whole tombstone situation.

Although...the question you have about "setting up his gadgets..." In the letter that he has delivered to Marty, he says that he's been happy living in the old west for the past....(insert correct amount) years...

If I try to answer #3 I'll go crosseyed

All right, let's go!

1) I'd assume Doc himself saved Clara before she plunged, since one way or another the Mayor gave him the job to get her at the station. Maybe without Marty he wasn't late to the appointment?

2) He was there for some time. Freak, if I'm not mistaken it was 8 months, not years. But then again, memory tells me he went back to January 1885, so it couldn't be 8 months. :hammer:

3) This one is tricky... But I don't think Marty being chicken would change all the advancements made by society. So everything would be the same, only Marty would've been living in a better place. And what's done (their trip to the future) is done, it's "past history"! :p

Bad ideas, huh? :hammer:

He definitely mentions this...although, I'm actually forgetting...I think it was for the shoes on his horse...MadDog paid $80 to Doc to reshoe his horse (or make new shoes) and the horse threw him off and he wanted his $80 back. Don't quote me on this...but I kinda forget...

Almost.... Doc did do the shoes on the horse.... but then.. The Horse threw a shoe... and Mad Dog fell off.. Mad dog was angry and shot the horse... so I think it was $75 for the horse.. and $5 for the shoe job.

YOU GOT IT!!! I knew it had to do with the horseshoe somehow  (I thought that $80 was a little high for a horseshoe job :) ) (no veiled innuendos please)

(Oh...and I see you did what I asked you not to do...you "quoted me" :hammer: )

ACTUALLY, there was no money for the horseshoe job because Doc goes "well since you never paid me for the job I guess we're even" and someting along the lines of "bring the horse back and I'll reshoe him" and Mad Dog goes "I done shot that horse" and blah blah blah and then Doc goes "well that's your problem" and then Mad Dog says something along the lines of that he was one the horse when he threw the shoe and he had some kinda whiskey so he owed him money for the horse PLUS whiskey....

so I just thought I'd add my 2 cents cuz I'm weird....

but I'm done now

:D

Spidey...why are you even worried about what I think? I was just worried about you! I used to analyze the films to death - I had to learn to just let it go and enjoy...:)
