Back of Dumbo Building

The future city would look great in Tomorrowland and fits the area's mood better then BNL ads as far as the eye can see. I'm not opposed to Wall-E in Tomorrowland though. Would be a great thing to replace Laugh Floor with.

Barenaked Ladies? I mean don't get me wrong, their version of Grim Grinning Ghosts was cool and all, but I'm not sure I want them in Tomorrowland.

But...

If I had a million dollars (if I had a million dollars)
Well I'd block the back of Dumbo (I would block the back of Dumbo)

And if I had a million dollars (if I had a million dollars)
Well I'd upgrade the ugly Speedway (maybe some robots and quiet cars)

And if I had a million dollars (if I had a million dollars)
Well I'd fix the snow on Everest (a nice refreshing water effect)

And if I had a million dollars...I'd buy XPaaaaaasssssssss...

I also agree, but what kid doesn't love driving go carts? IMHO it's almost a theme park necessity.

If I had it my way, they'd make a more "futuristic" version and (taking a hint from HKDL) place it outside the berm in the unused space north of Space Mountain. This would both free up a butload of space, and provide a better version of a well liked attraction in an otherwise unaccessible and unusable parcel of land.

The HKDL track is pretty impressive looking, if they did something like that outside the train tracks in WDW I'd be all for it.

I loved the Speedway when I was a kid, but it's 40 years old now, and being in between the upcoming New Fantasyland and the still relatively new Tomorrowland, I think it's going to seem like an antique

So you want to know how to take the fun out the speedway cars? Look no further than Michigan Adventure.Their ride is electric, can barely be steered one direction or the other and the driver has no control over the speed. The spacing is automatic so there is no bumping of the cars as well. From a safety stand point, good idea, from a fun stand point, pretty boring. Nice thing about that ride is the cars have a "radio" in the car that plays a programmed music loop with a "DJ" that would talk occasionally prompted by sensors on the track. It's called Be-Bop Blvd.

I understand the need for keeping the Speedway, but it's a very stale attraction at this point. I'd love to see it completely rebuilt and have it worked into new scenery and attractions. This can be done with elevation changes, tunnels, etc and it will be a much better usage of the space.

Hmmm. What if the cars were a slightly simplified version of the Test Track vehicle. A little smaller (2 seater), not as fast, and electric pick-ups using induction (embedded wires in the track). That would allow for more freedom of movement then Test Track (which is locked in), but still reduced freedom like the current speedway. The smart cars would be more Tomorrowland-like in that they would work like the current prototype cars...able to use anti-lock brakes when approaching other cars, display location of nearby cars, etc. Could be a great way to make a NexGen Speedway that works like real cars of the future, maintaining or increasing fun, and going a little more green.

I'd love if they would update or reinvent the Speedway, but the current track is only about 3/4 the length of the original 1971 track. In like '86 or '87 they shortened the track to make room for Mickey's Birthdayland/Toon Town. So I'm just guessing, but since they altered the speed way once for Toon Town, they'd probably do it again for Dumbo/Storybook Circus

Yes, it was shortened a little bit for Storybook Circus. The turn behind the new Dumbo queue building was shortened a bit.

I Agree that re-making the speedway to have the same theme elements and landscape of the HKDL speedway would be the way to go to reinvent this attraction and make it a worthwhile ride once again. TDO will never go for it - what's there now is "good enough" and that is all TDO strives for.

100% agree. It would need to be something better than your average go cart course, and it's pretty average right now...

A Few Ideas/Comments

SPEEDWAY:
1. Reimagine it as ROCKET CARS with simulated flames coming out the back, electric of course.
2. OR build a new transitional attraction in its place
3. Buuild an awesome go cart track OUTSIDE the berm near Space Mountain and have it MINGLE in thru Tomorrowland and back out.

BACK OF DUMBO:
Has it occurred to anyone that the buildings are painted a dark green? So with trees and foliage in the area, the building should disappear nicely!?
As far as billboards advertisements for the circus, it would be nice to see a few billboards around the track, kind of like SOUTH OF THE BORDER signs that start 300 miles away!
