I saw the BEST thing ever at the Magic Kingdom today. While walking from Tomorrowland into Fantasyland, by the Mad Tea Party, there was a line. I figured that there was a line for characters, so I started looking around to see who it was. Well, it was Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, but they weren't posing for pics or signing autographs...

...they were on the Teacups!!!!!! They were each in seperate cups, one was with one little girl and the other was with two girls. One (I think Dum) had his hand over his mouth during the ride, and the other (Dee) was waving his hands and enjoying it!! After the ride ended, they exited the ride and Dum (or the one I think is Dum) ran to the garbage can, pushed open the flap, and put his head by it, acting like he got sick!! And Dee was pointing and laughing at him.

It was easily the funniest Character greeting I have ever seen. I'm totally mad that I didn't have my camera with me. Has anyone else ever seen really 'interactive' Character/Guest interaction that surprised them?

that's awesome.

When we were at Chef Mickeys two weeks ago (sad it's been so long now), Mickey was at our table taking pictures with the kids when Goofy bumped into Mickeys ear. Mickey turned around and they both played it really well, being an accident and all. All of the sudden, Mickey points to the corner of the room as of to say 'so stand in the corner'. It was really funny stuff.

I was watching Spectromagic last year in July...it was the second show that night, and I was standing in Liberty Square near where is turns into Frontierland. I was leaning on a railing, enjoying the lights and winding down from my day. I must have looked extra tired, because Marry Poppins (a walking character) came up right in front of me and told me to stop slouching. She was quite insistant, and I straightened up immediately. Pretty fun moment for me.

Since the characters are seen more often in each of the parks now, this makes the encounters so much more interesting!...
You never know what they are going to do!

On one visit to DL, Captain Hook was chasing Peter Pan through Fantasyland. They ended up riding the carosel with everyone, with Peter Pan pretending to get away from Captain Hookon his horse.

On our last visit to WDW, Mickey and Minnie were having a "spat" at the character greeting area in Epcot. Minnie was giving Mickey a "talk to the hand". Mickey was begging for forgiveness. It was a hoot - but I never did find out what their quarl was about...

Also on our last WDW visit, the MadHatter rode the teacups with my daughter. She had no clue who he was

On the last night of our first trip to WDW with our kids, we asked my son what ride he wanted to ride one more time before leaving. He said pirates, so that is where we went. Right before loading the boat, out of nowhere comes Captain Hook and Mr. Smee, and they rode the ride with us! The were waving their arms and dancing to the yo ho song, and really played things up. It has been my most magical Disney experiecne EVER, and I think it will be hard to beat. It was extra special because Mr. Smee was my son's favorite character at the time....before the trip I asked him who he was most excited to meet, and he said Mr. Smee. We had met him and Hook earlier in the trip, but never expected to have this kind of experience on our last night!

Character Interaction

Last September, we were at MK for the Little Ones Extra Hour in the morning on our last day in the park. That time is priceless. My daughter got to ride on Cinderella's Carousel with Chip & Dale. We rode Peter Pan's Flight right behind a girl who rode with Wendy! Then, the ultimate happened. We got in line for Dumbo and Stitch was riding Dumbo with kids. (My daughter had just turned 5 and had a Lilo & Stitch party). Stitch rode with my daughter. He was actually done on the ride before us, but I asked very nicely and he agreed to ride 1 more time. My daughter loved it. If you can come during that time, it is marvelous!

We had a couple on our honeymoon. We were in the UK in Epcot and it was dead...we were the only ones in the back store. Winnie the Pooh came up to my husband. My husband did the whole give me 5 up high, down low you're too slow. Well, Pooh fell for it and was not happy. I turned around for one second and Pooh was tying my husband up with one of the ropes they use to keep everyone in line. The CM with him started "scolding" Pooh and he pointed to my husband saying it was his fault. by this time there were about 10 people in the store and they had no idea what was going on.

Also, in MGM we went to see Mickey. Mickey noticed our buttons and was miming congrats and my husband said to him "since you're a sorcerer can you make her nice?" Mickey did not like that and was "yelling at him". oh, it was so funny.

A couple of summers ago we were outside POTC and Captain Hook was signing autographs and posing for pictures. Our son (9 at the time) wanted to get his picture taken with Captain Hook. Our daughter (16 at the time) was at that age of being embarrased by waiting in line for character autographs. It was our son's turn to go visit with Captain Hook, and our daughter stayed back. Our son got his picture and autograph and he said thanks and we started to walk away. Well Captain Hook "grabbed" our daughter's hand as she walked by, and he hugged her and motioned to the cast member to get our camera and take a picture. By now, our daughter was beet red, especially as he motioned to her to stand still and not move. He walked over to a vine of some sort that was in full bloom with orange tropical flowers, picked one from the vine, and came back to our daughter and presented her the flower and a "kiss" on the hand. It was definately a "Disney Moment". Wendy and Peter Pan were a few feet away and Peter Pan asked our daughter where she got the flower (which was now tucked in her hair) she told him Captain Hook gave it to her....he replied that she better be careful as it may be poisoned! We still laugh about it to this day!

I took my 5 year old daughter to Disneyland in October as a special treat. When we had lunch with the princesses, my daughter dressed from head to toe as Mulan, her favorite character. Mulan was not one of the characters at the lunch but each of the princesses who were there talked to my daughter about their friend, Mulan, and how sorry she would be to have missed having lunch with my daughter. As we were leaving, the manager of the restaurant pulled me aside and told me where to find Mulan in the park (California Adventure). By the time we found Mulan and Mushu, no more people were allowed in the queue for pictures and autographs. As we turned around to leave, the characters' handler pulled us to the side and told us to wait. Even though we couldn't "meet" Mulan, my daughter was "escorted" by Mulan and Mushu through the park. It turned into a mini parade with other guests stopping to watch and take pictures. I think they spent around 10 minutes with my very thrilled daughter!

Yeah - we saw them on the tea cups when were were there the first week in May. I thougth it was cute - but I guess not enough to take a picture.

My mom and dad saw Goofy (I'm pretty sure it was Goofy) getting off Splash Mountain as they were about to board their log.

These all sound like a really great experiences, thanks for sharing. I would love to have any of these (or something similar) happen to me one day!

Sounds like a publicity photo become reality. What next? Goofy riding Space Mountain?

I know the exact picture you're alluding to! Goofy is with some kids riding through the blue tunnel on Space Mountain. I love that picture!

Awesome Character Interaction

First Post! Been reading for awhile. While at the Garden Grill Restaurant this April, Chip sat at our table and played my 12-yr olds son's DS. He left and came back and sat and played again. He wrote on a napkin that "Yoshi ate the bunny" and we had him sign it. It was very funny.:sohappy:

Figured I'd share another great interaction we had.

A group of us, five adults, were at Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. We BARELY made the last seating, so the place was pretty empty. Minnie and Goofy were at our table at the same time. First Goofy sat down next to me and grabbed a napkin. His handler told him he couldn't eat with us, so he threw his napkin down and stood up. Then Minnie was lavishing my husband with pats and kisses. Goofy was pointing at her, then DH, and shaking his head. It was easy for us to read that he was like 'What about Mickey?' Minnie put up her hand and pointed to her finger!! Clearly saying 'I'm not wearing a ring!!'. So then I grabbed DH's hand and pointed to his hand and told her, 'Yes, but he is'. Minnie was quite ashamed, Goofy thought it was hysterical, but must have had a change of heart, because after that he grabbed my husband's chair and started dragging it away from the table. DH's chair was about six feet from the table and Goofy walked to a fire exit, pushed open the door, and then continued dragging my husband's chair over to it!!! He literally had the chair with my hubby in it right at the door before his handler noticed what he was doing!!

One quick moment was immediately post-9/11. Attendance had hit an all time low, I guess as it was pretty empty. We were sitting enjoying an ice cream in the little gazebo type thing adjacent to Aloha Isle and Mickey & Minnie walked/skipped by together holding hands in Adventureland. I thought for a second I was hallucinating. The other two people in my party were so shocked too. No one else was there except the three of us, it happened so fast that I didn't have enough time to bust out my camera. It was so cool to see though.

That is hilarious! Having a 16 year old daughter myself, I immediately pictured what her reaction would have been in the same situation and it would have been exactly the same. She would have acted all cool at first, but eventually Hook's charm would have won her over (at least for a minute anyways - long enough for a picture maybe). :ROFLOL:Thanks for making my night!

This past weekend was hilarious since it was my roommates birthday, We did Crystal Palace for breakfast and he had a blast with Pooh and friends. But the best was at Chef Mikey's Minnie kissing me, Pluto making jokes and liking the Birthday Boy (he is 46 lol) but the best was at the Celebration song other of our friends wasn't waving his napkin and Donald very upset walks very loud and signals, where is the napkin. That moment make my whole night.

My family & i had a cool encounter with Stitch during our first trip to WDW in May 06. It was our last day and we had been looking for Stitch every where, he is one of my daughters, and my favorite characters. We were in line to see Stitch in Animal Kingdom. My 7 year old daughter was holding one of thise spray bottles with a fan on it. When we made our way to the front of the line she asked him if he had any coffee today, Stitch noticed the bottle and grabbed it from her and started spraying her, she was laughing hystericaly. Stitch then started spraying his handler as well as the rest of the people waiting in line!!! It was so funny!!! The handler finally got Stitch under control and he gave the bottle back. It is such a great memory and a great way to remember our first trip.
